You should be a proud Dad. He has upheld the honor of your family and the proud tradition of the Corps.

I'm willing to bet the farm that the groundwork for Cody becoming a great Marine was laid by you and his family. Yes Sir, you should be proud. Without you, there would not have been that Marine where he was when he was needed at that very moment. And without him, I'm betting the outcome would have been different.

May God Bless you, your family, and especially StaffSgt. Cody Maynard USMC.

His actions make us who came before him proud to say that we share such a great title ... United States Marine.

I hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas and wonderful New Year!

Please give him my thanks for his Service, and of course Semper Fi!

J.D.,

My prayers go out to you and your family especially during this Christmas Season. My belief has always been that the families of our troops are America's silent Warriors. You and yours have the toughest job there is. You wait and support and pray for your son's safe return, all while knowing that pride in the fact that he is serving a worthy cause. The cause of freedom.

Well Sir, I join you in your vigil and pray for his safe return home. May God Bless and keep him safe.

And as with StaffSgt. Maynard, please give your son my thanks for his Service. Please wish him a very Merry Christmas for me, and of course Semper Fi!

I have a son who is a career Marine. 20+ years and fixing to make LTC. I am an old Army grunt, but through my son I have come to have a very deep respect for the men and women who make up the Corps. They are truly professional, motivated, focused and brave. Each time I meet another Marine I am always impressed with him or her.

God Bless your son and keep him safe. His bravery undoubtedly has saved lives and helped in the cause. I salute him and you for your efforts in raising a fine young man. I pray that soon all our sons and daughters will return home and we can stop the constant worrying and fear that plagues all parents of service men and women.

As a combat veteran in a war a long time ago, I have problems not reliving my experiences through my son when he is deployed. All those old memories come back and bring with them the fears, anxiety, and sorrow for those who did not come home with me. I guess many other combat vets have the same problem. I really wish it was me going to war rather than my son. We should let the old guys like me fight the wars and save our young and vibrant young men and women to address the problems our country faces.

God Bless all those who currently serve. I hope and pray they all know that we support them 110% of the time and hold them very high in our respect and thanks!

Well the jig is up. His mother my ex has just found out that his 2 trips to Iraq and 2 to Afghanistan were not just hot dusty camping trips. She is pissed . So we have decided to send her over there and bring every one home . Middle east problem just solved. Thanks for all the good thoughts and praise all will be forwarded.
