Mountie and 1894 same same?

Just wondering if some body can answer that for me. Picked up a Marlin 39A Mountie on Saturday dirt cheap cause it has an abomination where the buttstock should be. I asked about anyone having one on the classifieds but haven't gotten an answer. I see where I can pick up a late model one off of a 44mag, replete with the rubber butt pad for about $45. I would as soon do that as try and rebuild what is there. So will they interchange? By serial number this Mountie was born in 1959 or 1960.

Try "Boyds" they sell gunstocks (Butt-stocks & forends) for Marlins as well as many others ....

Decent pricing as well ....

Well, I answered my own question. Forgot I had a crescent butted butt stock I was saving for a Marlin project. It fits the Mountie, almost, just the usual amount of sanding will be needed like all new buttstocks that are 99% finished.

Thanks for all the help, ya'll have a Merry Christmas. :D
