SBH Hammers installed!

Howdy Pards,

I recently got some SBH hammers from Kiowa Kid for my NMV's.

Installed them this weekend - using the disassembly instructions from the User's guide included with the guns. It was relatively straight forward. The first one took me about 15 minutes, but the second took maybe 5 minutes because it was all familiar the second time around.

The guns are nice and smooth with the new hammers - I plan to get some lighter springs for the hammers and triggers in the near future as well.

Here are some pictures comparing the two hammers for those that haven't seen them together.

And also a pict of the new gun safe I picked up at Sportsman's Warehouse - on sale now for $599 - Its certainly not the most robust gun safe I have ever seen, but it is markedly better than the sheetmetal gun lockers that are not to much cheaper, and it weighs about 450 lbs. And for those that notice it is still on the wood pallet - that is not the final resting place for the safe.

I shot my New Vaquero's with SBH hammers today for the first time today in a match ,I had been shooting the "older model"Vaquero's for a few years.Roughneck Rod set them up for me with action work & removing T bar & welding up the hammers & adding a half cock ,they feel excellent & identical.

I had the chance of shooting RR's iron's a few weeks ago & imediately I felt I wanted a set & I was not disappointed.

Even after shooting my other guns for years I did not miss a beat with my new irons .

The purple shag carpet is in fact an old terrycloth towel. The shot was taken up close for the hammer detail though

All the info here and on some really great websites by SASS folks has made me much more comfortable working on my own gear (slicked up SxS, and now some SBH hammers). Thanks everyone.

I can't wait to get out and shoot with the new hammers.
