We lost a good cowboy an Saturday. Hats off to PANHANDLE PARSON (Royce Elms), always a friendly smile and a kind word from ole PP. He always had a great time with his grandson at the range Canadian River Regulators. Myself and Cayenne enjoyed the friendship we had with PP, WE MISS YA COWBOY. Blacksmith Jim and Cayenne

Yup a real great pard to ride the river with and now he has ridden over the ridge and joined the heavenly posse. I remember when he saddled up with our bunch he was Dodge Dakota (he was driving one at the time), then he became Captain Lee Hall, Texas Ranger and finally Panhandle Parson and that fit him best as that is what he was in real life. He was always laughing smiling and carrying on and we will all sure miss him but we know he is cuttin' up on a higher posse on the Great Open Range.

I remember oncet we were at the SW Regional at Buck Creek and he saddled up and rode home Saturday afternoon and skedaddled back to Amarillo so he could preach Sunday morning. That night at the shindig his name was drawed for a Cimarron pistol but you had to be present to win. Didn't bother him that he lost out on a free gun, he knew his reward was to lay up treasures in heaven. His grandson had been coming with him to shoot a lot of times lately and I wonder about the boy and if somehow his CAS career can continue. I hope so. Those two sure had a big time playing cowboy...

Somebody let me know when the services are, I am gonna try to be there.

Services are tomorrow, Thursday, at 1 p.m. at The Church at Quail Creek. Trying to decide whether to wear cowboy duds or not. Don't want to be out of place, but know Mrs. Elms wanted his cowboy pards to know of his passing. Been thinking about the grandson, too. You could tell he loved spending time at the range with this grandfather.
