Outlaw Gambler
Lots of shooters use black powder in them. Most original early models only shot black powder until the smokeless came along.

Purly SASS # 57438
would the take down 97' be harder to clean than a double barrel ?
Prof. Fuller Bullspit
would the take down 97' be harder to clean than a double barrel ? A little bit, but not much. My wife loves her '97 an has shot both a take down and a solid frame model with black powder. This may be blasphemy, but you can clean the barrel and tube, then spritz out the action and be pretty much good to go.

I would recommend taking it apart occasionally for a thorough cleaning.
