Marshal Dan Troop 70448 Posted November 28, 2010 Author Posted November 28, 2010 I got my long awaited Red Ryder last year - at age 62!! I still have my original Red Ryder, its in bad shape, rust, and wood wear from decades of use. But she still shoots straight. MT Quote
Complicated Lady Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 the toys I wanted but never got.... long list there, but I had more than enough. I had some of the "latest greatest" toys of the time, but not everything I wanted, but the best toys I can remember were a stick, a rock, and a football. Spent many hours playing with those. Now as an adult, there's lots of toys I've wanted and never got. Again, I have plenty, and if I really want something I can usually find a toy I don't use any more to sell to finance new toys. Still, Santa has NEVER brought me a gun, I've hinted, I've wrote letters, I've sent emails, NOTHING. Just once I'd like to be surprised with a new gun under the tree. I'm not bitter....much. <whiney paragraph deleted> Well Grizz in your wife's defense.... its kind of like buying a woman a new purse for Christmas. You might have an idea of what she wants but unless she points to the exact one then it won't be exactly the one! She might be afraid it won't be exactly the gun you want. As for me... I have a brand new 73 rifle, still in the box. It's a giant paper weight without an action job. Not to mention the fact that it's a mile too long for my short arms. So, I will be shooting B Western next weekend at Tin Star seeing as how I have to shoot my Marlin either way. Quote
