On a recent thread, the original poster asked a simple question of which gun to purchase, "Gun A of caliber x" or "Gun B of caliber y" ? You would think it couldn't get any simpler that that. But there were some that ignored the question and answered "Gun C" or "Gun D". Why give an answer that is off topic? But to answer the question, really and seriously, how many conversations have you had where you stop and wonder how you got to the subject you were talking about? How many where someone walked into the discussion and had to get in on a conversation with a topic that was at best peripherally related, if at all? Online, you can read the progression, but it’s not that different from any long discussion you’ve ever been part of in mixed company. But yes, I have posted specific questions on forums on one subject, even writing, “I don’t need to know subject X, just need subject Y: and yet, someone always chimes in with X anyway.
