  1. I served on a jury earlier this month and while reading a book The Men In The Boat, while waiting in the jury bullpen another prospective juror asked me how I liked it. He told me that his wife had used it in some research for a book that she had written that is now on the New York Times best seller list. Indianapolis is the book and he told me that his wife and him and another person had spent over six years doing the research. They also interviewed a number of survivors from the Indianapolis. I’ve just started reading it and it’s turned into a real page turner. The Indianapolis was the last battleship sunk by the Japanese in WWII and the book tells quite a story of the fight to survive after the sinking and then the court martial of the ships captain and the fight to clear him that took 50 years.
