  1. May 17 2025 at Thunder River Renegades JUST MY OPINION........ A shooter report on the new revolvers I bought from EMF-Pietta. Short stroked and lowered hammers. I took them out of their boxes and dryfired about 6 times on each gun. Then, on Saturday morning, to the TRR range to test fire them . Sandbagged, to shoot at target at 6 yards, to see where they shoot. Both shot with 105gr Bear Crk 38 Specials with 2.6 grains of Clay Dot, Winchester GM200 primers, Winchester 38 Special used brass. First six rounds fired from each revolver. At POI, as in the front and rear sight level to each other, both shot great 6 shot groups, approximately 2.25 inches low. That is amazing. About an 5 pound trigger pull. And a 5 to 7 lb trigger pull. That is not so good, but doable. They are lighter than my Ruger New Vaqueros by approx 3 ounces. They fit in my Doc Noper custom 2 strong side holster rig, but abit too loose for me. Yes, I could squeeze the holsters to tighten them, in one area. Grips are full checkered. These revolvers are compatible with the Colt 1st and 2nd generation Single Army Action parts. My opinion is.. they are Excellent, for new "Out of the Box" guns. Short stroked with lowered wide hammers. In my 20+ years of shooting cowboy action, I have never seen a revolver shoot this well, out of the box, straight from the factory. I slip hammered after the heavy triggers were pulled. I was impressed. I did all the normal sweeps. I shot 105 and 122 gr bullets. About 80 rounds each revolver. One glitch where, I believe the base pin, slipped out of place, with the cross latch, locked up one pistol for 3 misses, only on one revolver.. Cleared it and reset the base pin and everything was just fine. I am going to tear them down, clean, maybe smooth some parts and lube the way I like my main match guns to be . Slick McClade, started his dream of bringing an "Out of the Box" Direct from the factory. revolver to this amazing game/sport we enjoy. Slick McClade teamed up with A. Pietta back in 2018 , to make this a reality. The pandemic occurred and the timeline/production was set back. Finally arrived. Major credit to Slick McClade and Mr. Pietta on this impressive, well built, SASS competition revolver!!!! Did I already, impressive?? Yes, the price is right. Check em out. Ask Slick McClade, Cheyenne Culpepper, Deputy Short Stack, Ain't Dunit for their thoughts.
