    I have recently acquired a set of open top pistols with the Richards/Mason conversion cartridge cylinders. I have heard about folks heating up and bending the hammer spur down. The guns point really nice, but the hammer is a little difficult to reach shooting one handed. OK now to the question, is it legal to cut the hammer spurs off of a pair of super Blackhawk hammers and weld them on to the open top hammers?
