Hello all, newbie here - Finally became official SASS member a month ago with a long-time pard of mine (hopefully the wives join in the future and get the bug like we have). I have only been to one fun shoot... but am now obsessed with learning all I can and planning my schedule for the fall /winter. I have enjoyed researching here on SASSNet. I noticed that many of the competition shoots are "rain or shine"... I am in Colorado/Wyoming so we don't get much rain in these parts, but my buddy and I are planning on traveling to participate around the country when able and our skills improve. My question is - what is permissible to wear under SASS rules and how do most folks prepare, what do they use for rain protection for firearms / ammo / and person? I would very much like to hear back and see any pictures of gear for "not so sunnny and dry" weather. I do have a standard golf umbrella and waterproof gun sleeves stowed on my cart but nothing to protect my pair of Ruger Vaqueros. Any suggestions?
