Having worked in bars and restaurants during college, I like to keep up on that industry, just being curious about changing times. I never heard of the Angel Shot until today. This is how it works. If a person in a bar feels threatened or unsafe, this is a way to discretely let the staff know they need help. Originally, a patron would “ask if Angela was working,” and that evolved into the Angel Shot. If the patron would like staff to escort them to their car, the Angel Shot is ordered neat or straight up. If the patron wants a cab or Uber, the shot is ordered on the rocks. If the shot is ordered with a twist, staff is to call the police. It’s sad that a night out with friends now requires distress signals. Here is a picture of a bar mirror in the ladies room, providing a way out. If you have college age ladies you know, you may want to pass this on to them. Be safe.

Yesterday, all the forums failed to appear on my phone. I have a new phone running Android platform. Everything between SASS Wire F.A.Q. and END of TRAIL don't show up. Looked through all my settings and rebooted phone. I obviously changed a setting by accident somewhere but now sure what I did. Any ideas? I use phone most of the time to view the wire, so this is frustrating.

Can someone please direct me to where I can obtain the RO pocket card

I got some 1/8" hard felt from Duro-Felt and punched out 50 wads for over the powder in my muzzleloader. Lubed them in a baggie with Bore Butter in the micro wave. Seemed to work excellent. However, it took abt. a quarter tube of BB to saturate 'em. Which pretty much negates any cost saving over buying "Wonder Wads". A "You tube" video by Mike Belliveau shows using 1# of mutton tallow and 1/2# of beeswax melted together and soaking a piece of the felt, then punching. Does this method seem more cost effective? What say Ye. Eyesa

Cowboys always help each other so please feel free to post any information you think will help other SASS shooters or folks thinking of getting into the sport or into reloading. If you see someone you think needs your service, Private Mail them and talk all you want. I have been helping newbies select their reloading equipment in the Facebook reloading groups for a while. I will not tell you what to buy, but will give you all the information you need to make your own decisions on what to buy, so you don’t waste money buying and trying, like I did when I started. I can also give you information on where to get a fair price on equipment and components, but it will be your choice where to purchase. I have reloading info on my web site that I learned from my pardners and I make aftermarket products for most presses so I have a working knowledge of MEC, RCBS, Hornady, Lee and Dillon presses.

Our club the Hawkinsville Claim Jumpers, the northern most club in Cal. had a booth at the sportsmens expo 2 weeks ago and had alot of people show interest in a new shooters clinic for the following week.Well we had 9 adults and 3 kids show up to try out this game we love. We tried to keep it simple and just go over some of the basics and not overload them with to much info. A big thank you to Jed I TV and especially Ms. Harley for putting this video together. As a result we had 3 new shooters shoot with us today at our monthly match and i think they had a great time and they did very well. I have an Uberti/Cimmaron Original Antique finish Cattlemen 45 Colt and the retaining screw for the cylinder rod keeps loosening up and falling out. This is one of those that's made too look all weathered and old and used (even the grips looks smoothed out from use). I've had it for years but only started shooting it again recently. When I got to the unloading table at the last shoot...I noticed the screw that holds the cylinder rod in the frame had loosened/unscrewed and almost fallen out. Any recommendations? Silicon? Replacement screw?

For a while now I have wanted to get into shooting competitively and everything that goes along with such a massive endeavor but from talking to local shooters and reading online I had found that manny competitions and competitors were rude, elitist, and just plane not cool. Everything changed when I happened on a youtube video tagged SASS where a guy walked through “Trouble Town” at the Texas Troublemakers Club showing some of the people, the costumes, and of course the guns.
Suddenly I found my heart was racing as a spark lit my eye, this was it! This style of competitive shooting didn't require I spend two thousand on a gun, plus spare mags, plus hundreds of rounds of ammo for every event, and best of all the people seemed laid back and there for a few laughs and a holism good time. In other words I was hooked on the idea of cowboy action shooting. Now this wasn't just a passing infatuation, I've always been a junky for everything pre 1899, I’d get all dressed up and go to the civil war reenactment then get all the other kids to participate in mock battles and quickdraw competitions with our cap-guns. My favorite tv shows were Have Gun- Will Travel and Rawhide. 
I first went shooting with my dad when I was ten and from that day forward I was determined to be the best, eight years later that fire hasn't died down one bit. I recently acquired my first real Cowboy Action gun, a used Armi Jager Dakota .45 and I am now determined to compete in this sport that doesn't require awkward semi autos with complex mechanics, optics that cost more than your gun, or the constant reloading of high capacity magazines. So to finally get to the point, I would greatly appreciate any advise, tips and ticks, or knowledge that you great people can pass on. 
Specifically help on good places I can go to shoot (I live at least two and a half hours away form all shooting ranges), the best way to acquire gun leather, how to set up a range that will help me train for CAS, and ways to acquire used reloading gear. I’m looking for a coach gun in ether 12 or 20 gauge for $300 or under, and a 45lc lever gun for under $500, let me know if there are any brands or specific models that fit this bill.

OK Pards I need some help!! I have to get a Carrier for a Winchester 94, 45LC. I have been to all sites I know of from MidWay to Gun Works. This winchester is the one my son KID Mike uses and I hate to make it a wall hanger, so I hope someone can help me out. Again I need a carrier for a 45 Long Colt Winchester 94. Please no funny mail. Howdy folks! I picked up a 73 that was stock and after watching some videos and speaking to some pards decided to install a pioneer short stroke kit. I filed the short stroke till the bolt would full recess and not get caught up on the carrier as it came up, I also picked up the light weight carrier from Pioneer. The problem I seem to be running into is that the carrier seems to drop out before the bolt comes thru it and sometimes gets hung up, did I do something wrong? as you can tell I am new to this. SPK

Howdy Everyone, I have been shooting skeet for the past nine years and have recently made the switch to SASS and the world of cowboy action shooting. I like to reload so I can save money to shoot more and that naturally carried over. I got my pistols and rifle in .38 special. So my first question is what type of reloader is best for CAS? Dillon seems to be popular on the forum, but someone at my local club had all of the primers go off in his face off of a Dillon. I do not know if this was a fluke or a common occurrence, but I do not want primers going off in my face. My second question is what is an affordable brand of ammo I can buy that can be reloaded numerous times? I know for skeet the AA's by winchester were the best to reload with and I did not know if there was a similar type brass for the .38's. My third and final question is what type of powder and what grain bullet work best for the .38's for competition? I know everyone has their own preferences, but I was thinking a 125 grain bullet with a light powder charge. I know I have to meet the force factor lined out in the SASS handbook, but if anyone has a magic light load recipe please share. Thank you in advance for any and all advice. Sincerely, Skeet Horton
