If/when you trim cases, are you supposed to do it BEFORE or AFTER sizing the case? Or does it matter?

I have been looking for treated sleeves or socks for my cowboy guns, and was wondering what others use. I have been looking at http://borestores.com/and also regular sock type http://www.midwayusa.com/product/939460228/midwayusa-silicone-treated-rifle-and-shotgun-gun-sock . What do you use for transport and storage to protect your firearms from dings and moisture?

I was wondering if anyone out there had any information to help with gun cases to minimize the amount of room taken up in the automobile. I have 3 shooters in the family with full setups so I am trying to down size storage space. I presently have 2 different double gun cases and 2 single gun cases. With the cart and all the other things that need to go into the SUV we are pretty full. Any help is appreciated.

Hi, Guys! First time posting! I've bought a Cimarron 1878 customized by Nate Kiowa Jones and I'm wondering what you might recommend for a case to transport the shotgun by car. Here in MA we need to have it in a "secure locked container" when transporting it however, a soft-sided case where you can lock two zippers together is OK, too. My preference would be a hard case that can store the two (or 3) disassembled parts in the shortest case. Pix and/or links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
