  1. The calendar shape and EOT schedule in 2026 prevented a two day shoot from one sponsoring club like in the past few years. BUT, with the Tumbleweeds match on Friday and the Los Vaqueros match on Saturday, interested pards and pardettes can shoot one or both days prior to the EOT Wild Bunch and other scheduled events of EOT. You can spend time in Tombstone and plan your travel on to Phoenix as you require. On Saturday, Los Vaqueros will shoot two stages per bay (on 3 bays) with no pre-registration necessary. Realistically we can handle 75 shooters which coincides with Tumbleweeds' 75 shooter limit. You will need to fill out a waiver as you sign up on Saturday and it will cost $20 for non-members. Shoot with us, make sure your guns and gear are ready for EOT and enjoy the atmosphere of the Town Too Tough to Die.

  3. Friday the 20th will have 6 stages of fun called the Tumbleweeds Shootout, see the related post. Saturday the 21st will be the Los Vaqueros monthly match that will also feature 6 stages. No preregistration required. Shooting will start at 9 am. Sunday the 22nd will have 6 stages of fun put on by Tumbleweeds folks. No preregistration required and shooting starts at 9 am. Hope to see you there. Go West
  4. Find what OAL your rifle likes and use that load for pistol and rifle. There are many powders that work with .38 Special, I tend to look at cost and availability when buying. My guns are tuned to use any small pistol primer.
  5. I'm gonna assume I'll be over my shoulder surgery by then. Any day at the range is better than sitting at home.
  6. Retrieved my email from the junk folder, no pun intended. I cast my vote.

  8. Wow, that's quite a list.
  9. My wife has a .38 Special AWA that she loves. It does develop issues over time, but Lassiter gets it back into shape. It probably needs some massaging every 5 years or so. Yes, she slam fires.

  11. Hi Roger, would you send the booklet to me as a message or the email link below? Thanks
  12. '92 carbines are the movie and TV guns, which is what aroused my interest. Although some guns may be finicky with ammo, it is usually the .38/.357 that is most finicky. My .45 will chamber empty brass and is not picky about 180, 200, 240 or 250 gr bullets. Congrats on your purchase.
  13. My hearing loss is primarily in the upper register, a range often used by women's voices. That means I have an excuse when I can't hear the wife. Many insurance companies pay some up through all of the cost, depending. A good audiologist will be experienced in submitting claims since few rely on cash customers.
  14. After a hearing test with an audiologist, I went with Oticon. First it was one ear, then I added the other a few years later. They are adjustable with Bluetooth. I hear pretty well with only a few sound sources, but noisy environs like restaurants, etc. are pretty bad. Some of the things I think I hear from the TV are pretty comical, like "reptile dysfunction." At matches, I pull one earplug out to hear instructions and conversations. They were spendy for the insurance company, but no cost to me.
  15. Hey Star, are we gonna see ya at Bordertown?
