  1. When the cysts started to cause more intense pain, I wasn't able to exercise as much., and gained 20 pounds in consequence. Did y'all lose or gain weight post surgery?
  2. Best wishes to all. I'm looking at transforaminal interbody fusion in another 6 weeks, and am somewhat apprehensive. I've got 2 cysts at L4 and L5 that have not responded well to pressurization, aspiration or steroid injections and am now looking at surgerical removal of the cysts and implantation of titanium rods. The surgery iteself takes several hours, and I'm cusrious to know how long recovery "typically" takes. The orthopedic and neurosurgeon expect me to spend several days in the hospital. How long does it usually takes to start walking around, and how long until you're back on the range in shooting shape?
  3. Thanks for the offer Mr. Payne. I'll take your word those .454's won't cause mischief and mayhem.
  4. Does anyone know where I can get Colt Eagle and Shield black gutta percha/plastic/polymer/resin grips for a Ruger Vaquero large frame revolver?
  5. Thank You. What is the advanatge of swapping out a Vaquero hammer with a Super Blackhawk hammer?
  6. Thank you. Ill look for an old model Vaquero. Do the Cimarron 7th Cavalry and Custer models have larger grips?
  7. What 1873 single action clone features the largest frame? I'd like to make sure the three fingers of my right hand fit on the grip behind the curvature of the triggerguard. The 1860 Army conversions are comfortable, but I'm not sure which 1873 clone is best for larger hands
  8. I would like to purchase an 1873 Single Action Army clone in 45 Colt with 7 1/2" barrel. I have very large hands and would like a recommendation on a revolver purchase. I shoot open top conversions in 38 spc distributed by Cimarron, and find the grips comfortable. By contrast, I find the grips on an 1858 Remington Army cap and ball revolver uncormforably small. I shoot a pair of Uberti 12 shot 1873 revolvers in .22LR for fun, and find the grip sizes small but acceptable for a pistol with no recoil. Which single actions revolvers have the largest grip? Finally, does anyone make Colt styled eagle hard rubber grips that fit any of the clones? I notice all the Cimarron clones feature one piece grips, and the Colt's are two piece. Thank you very much
  9. I have hundreds of .454 diameter polymer coated .454 diameter 200 grain bullets that I shoot through a Colt Single Action Army. I'd like to avoid having to load some 45 Colt with .452 diameter bullets for the rifle, and .454 diamter bullets for the revolver. Can I safely and accurately shoot the .454 diamter bullets through the Miroku buillt deluxe Winchester 1873?
  10. Thank you all very much. I appreciate the information and time it took to share it.
  11. Thank you all very much. Can polymer bullets be crimped? The bullets feature crimp grooves, so it appears they should be crimped, but wonder if crimping tears the polymer.
  12. I shoot a couple of 45-70's trapdoor springfields with both black powder and smokeless loads. For blackpowder I shoot lead cast bullets, but for smokeless I'd like to use red polymer coated bullets. I've gotten good results using ight loads of IMR4198. but 300 grain bullets exceed 1400 fps, and I'm wondering if coated bullets are designed to withstand that type of velocity. I've fired polymer bullets out of pistols with velcities in the 700-900 fps range, and am uncertain how much velocity they are designed to withstand before fouling the bore with coating.
