  1. I'm selling a youth-size (12 LOP stock, 16" barrel) bolt-action 22LR rifle, CZ 452 Scout. It was my son's and my daughter's first rifle, but they quickly graduated into semi-auto Ruger. They have fired about 300-500 rounds through this rifle no issues, never a failure! It's been in my safe for the last ten years; now it's time for someone else to enjoy it. This is a rare small-size bolt action rifle built without any cheap parts, all the same quality as full-size CZ rifles It is in excellent condition, with no rust, no metal damage, and only a few scuffs on the stock from being in the back of the safe. It comes with a Bushnell 1.5-4.5x32 scope and a 10-round magazine. The original box is included. shipped FFL to FFL in the US - $400 or local pickup for $350 in the Chicago area
  2. I just called them on the phone number that is listed on their FB page. I got a reply and a reassurance that my order is being worked on
  3. oh-oh... I placed an order with them on 4/11. it is still "awaiting shipment" they shipped fast in the past... I better look into it
  4. if the deal with rmurphy92 falls through, I will take it
  5. Never knew about them until today when I saw one for sale... they are not lightning design, but single action, and 357.... https://www.gunsamerica.com/digest/imi-timber-wolf-ahead-of-its-time/
  6. I cut the notch deeper. if not enough, might have to cut the elevator steps
  7. as soon as I get out of Illinois
  8. Ok... it's not for SASS then... it's to put a stupid grin on my face everytime I shoot it with a full power 44 mag in the indoors range... And to be my truck gun in case they will prohibit everything black and semiautomatic
  9. Almost a year ago, I had a stupid idea of getting a mare leg lever in 44 mag and turning it into SBR. Took me a few tries to get the stamp - it was denied twice for some unspecified reason, but finally stamp is here, stock is on, and it is as much fun as I expected! It was shooting way too high, so I had to use a Dremel on the rear sight... the 20" 1873 rifles are for size comparison. BTW, I don't think SBRs are prohibited for SASS competition, are they? I am thinking of taking it to the match and shooting a stage or 2
  10. if they offer it in the direct message and have literally everything you need, it's a scam
  11. Average Joe! Congrats on becoming a SASS merchant! I can vouch for him and his tool being above average! I love mine! It reduced my shotgun fumbles... now, can you come up with something that will make me shoot a clean match? See you in spring, Joe!
  12. I had a console vault before IL had concealed carry and kept my gun there. Now I don't see the point - the gun is always on me, and when I am not in the truck, it's also not in the truck. I set up a "gun case" in the under-rear seat storage bin in my new truck - but that's just to store the guns on the way to the range. when I am at the big shoot - guns are coming to the hotel room.
  13. in my rifle it is a wedge that goes into the bolt and the extension rod, that is held by the same pin that attaches the toggle arms to the bolt
  14. no, that's a 38... Maybe I was not persistent enough. will try it next winter
  15. Actually, yes, I do. I tried to wiggle the bolt out without removing the hammer and couldn't... so I remove the lower tang. is there another way?
  16. If the bolt is out of the rifle - it takes extra 5 min to take the extractor out - I have the jig and the punch and the length of the heat treated wire for replacement pins...makes it easy it's getting the bolt out of the rifle, what takes time and patience
  17. Every year, towards the end of the season, the extractor in my rifle collects enough grime underneath to start affecting the rifle action. It is an aftermarket heat-treated one, so the extractor doesn't need replacement, and after I disassemble the rifle each winter, take the bolt out, knock the pin out, and clean under the extractor, it is all good for almost all year. I clean my rifle every few matches but usually don't take it fully apart during the season. I was wondering if there was some way to keep it clean under the extractor - some preventive care without the need to strip the gun completely down? Something quick after a few matches? some magic cleaner that would dissolve it all?
  18. I am having it right now. one day of fever followed by two days of nasty cold. hope to be done by Thursday
  19. my wife left Soviet Union when she was 15. she has no accent at all I left USSR when I was 19, but spent 7 years in Israel before coming here - I have a very pronounced accent, but it is not the same is native Russian-speaking people have when they speak English
