That’s very close to what I estimate. Now add $15 match fee, multiply by three, and add $40 for gas.

Still cheaper than taking 3 people to the movies and buying popcorn and a drink! Lol

  2. The announcement was made several months ago by several powder companies to look for big increases in price this year.  I know alliant put out a statement to expect 10-25%.  With the rate everything else has went up the last couple of years powder is actually behind.  One of my sources for powder who is a pretty big alliant customer told me his rep told him not to expect any alliant powder until 2025.  Once their on hand supply is gone there will be no more for the civillian market.   So all you guys who shoot alliant better stock up while you can find it or switch to something else.

I figured up the cost of loading at today's prices and without buying brass 38 special came up to $21.00/100.  So about $25 to shoot a match rifle and pistol.  At today's price of components i can load a box of 12 ga for $7. So it costs me $32 in ammo to shoot a normal match.  That's still pretty cheap fun!

  3. You can get a whole lot of stuff in a cart you will never use.  I try to keep it simple, a good small Screwdriver, small can of G96, shotgun bore snake, rifle/pistol caliber bore snake, a swab for shotgun chambers and a rag.  The shotgun chamber swab is what I use the most.  The screw driver has come in handy several times.  I have loaned the bore snakes but haven't used them at a match.  I find a bottle of water, lens wipes, lead free hands wipes and a snack pretty handy too.

  4. I have two Jimmy Spurs IAC 12 ga 97's for sale.  Both are 08 prefix guns.

#1 Gun on the Grey case.  Barrel measures 19 1/2 to the front of the receiver.  Solid frame, shows lots of dents, dings and finish loss but no cracks in the stock.  Action is smooth as glass.  Asking $850 plus shipping.

#2 Gun on brown case.  Barrel measures 19 1/2" to the front of the receiver.  Solid frame, shows just a couple of scratches and dings, much less than the other Gun.  Again with Jimmy Spurs action work this gun is as smooth as glass.  Asking $950 plus shipping.  Sold These Jimmy Spurs 97's don't come up often as people just don't let go of them.  Please pm me for more details or offers.

  5. This is a Uberti 20" round barrel carbine, 357 mag with Cody Conagher short stroke and action work.  Has some cart wear and dents and dings but no cracks in the stock.  Comes with the lever wrap and butt cover.  I loaned this rifle to an experienced shooter at the last match when his rifle broke on the first stage.   His comment after the match was "Whoever buy this is getting a very nice rifle!"  Asking $1500 plus shipping.

  6. It has been in stock off and on at Natchez and other online suppliers.  I happened to be in a small gun shop that had three 1 pound bottles for $32 a bottle so I bought them all.  My new shooter is only able to shoot one match a month right now so that should last him a while.

  7. Don't shoot the messenger. I have just heard several shooters lamenting they were running out so I just reported that I found some.  From what I hear that price is at least 10%-20% under what it is going to be in a few months, if it is even available.

  8. This is not the news I wanted to hear about BPCR in MO.  When I get back up there full time we may have to see what we can do to remedy that situation!

  9. I have shot about 5k ginex with no problems.  They are harder than a federal but not as hard as a cci.  If your gun will shoot winchesters you should be fine.  That being said Target Sports USA has federal small pistol in stock for $90/1k and is running a free shipping promo right now.  I haven't looked but Natches shooting supply has also had federal small pistol in stock pretty regularly.
