I plan to, I am currently working on that mold design, as I don't have one, and can't find one. That's been another part of the challenge with this, there are no real sources for the molds other than reverse engineering them. I have that mold, and will be offering those.

You got it, pardner!

Awesome! Thanks Scarlett!

Thanks Seamus. To update everyone, I'm building inventory as we speak so I can hit the ground running. The current hold up is all the bribery at all levels of government to get my ffl (you wouldn't think you need an ffl to sell chunks of lead, but the robber barons want their share of everyone's hard earned dollar), which takes zoning variances, special hearings, etc etc, I'm going to be several grand into this just in government fees. Appreciate your support and patience, and I'll update here as things progress. Dallas

Thank you Gunner!

Scarlett is right, I didn't see it was APP. Don't compress it.

Hey Rev, great shooting with you at Spring Round Up! Typically a light load is the first suspect, and the easiest to address before getting into gunsmithing. I'd be happy to share my load data with you, I've never had this problem. It's like this: 1) Pour black powder into case until full. 2) Brush off excess from case mouth. 3) Cram bullet on top. POSSE 6! Dallas

Appreciate the patience, guys, I'm getting a back stock built up, so when the powers that be decide I've bribed them enough, I'll be ready to take orders and ship. Dallas

44-40 reloading options and Redding premium expander die
Dallas McBoomboom replied to Johnny Knight's topic in SASS Wire
The biggest factor that I found, (and confirmed when I switched from a conventional die set to a Square Deal B with its proprietary dies and briefly stopped using it) is the RCBS sizer die. Almost completely eliminated any fitment issues, which prior to using it was around 1/20 or so. Everyone has their own " secrets" for WCF cartridges, that's mine for 44-40. I have a single stage press with that sizer in it next to my SDB, and run everything through it first. -

Altering a bullet mound. Have you ever?
Dallas McBoomboom replied to R. R. Ranger's topic in SASS Wire
Accurate Molds will make you anything you can draw. They also have pages of molds they have made before, and can even make changes to some of the dimensions wheen requested. Worth a look. -
Heading down to this one for my first time this year with Big Iron Bohannon, Lil Iron Lucille, Anvil Adam, and Indiana Jules, who have all told me what a great time this match is. Looking forward to meeting y'all!

Hey Dawg, I am all set up to do all the casting and lubing for most of the commonly used big lube projectiles (44-40, 38-40 DD, 32-20, 38 Slim, 38 Snakebite, 45 PRS, and others to be added as demand requires). I'm currently working on jumping through all the ridiculous legal hoops necessary to sell lead bullets, and hope to be able to offer Big Lube bullets for sale. Lube will be SPG as I work through my existing supply, but I have Springfield Slim's lube recipe, and will be transitioning to that quickly. Keep your eyes peeled for Dark Side Lead Co.

They will have Bisley grips soon, (and NMVs and Birdsheads), but Bisleys were the next ones in line last I talked to him.

Back in Indiana, the International Black Powder Championship
Dallas McBoomboom replied to C.C. Moonshine's topic in SASS Wire
So I'm picking up that there's a possible BP night shoot AND now a light saber tournament too? I'm 100% in on both. -
I use an Accurate mold for 44-40 that I think is a Springfield Slim design (43-215c I think, although I'm not on my shop to check), it's very similar in profile to the one you pictured. I'm trying to get my hands on a PRS 45 and a 38 Snakebite right now.

There are still several items on the website that show in stock, my hope is that he's just left it up to unload whatever stock he has left. If it accepts payment and he never sends anything, I'll dispute the charges and have them reversed. Worth the gamble, I reckon.
-
Mine did the same, but it did that back when I first ordered from him a few years ago, so I wasn't too worried about it.
-
If the website still allows things to be put in cart tomorrow, I might gamble a couple hundred bucks on molds. Never seen a hearse pulling a trailer, right? I'll keep the thread posted, thanks for all the input, gents.

Dang, I never saw any of that, but it's easy to miss posts. Thanks for the info pardner.

That's the site I was at (I still have a browser window open) I just tried it this morning, and none of the links were working, and hadn't been for a couple days. Now they are. I guess it's trying to make me look like a horse's rear end.

Is Dick Dastardly no longer in business? His website is all broken links, he doesn't answer emails, and his phone number is disconnected. Anyone have any information? Thanks in advance, Dallas
