  1. The first step is cleaning the CD in warm water using Dawn or other great cutter in the above radial manner.
For some reason, the unwashed like to leave finger prints or blow their noses on CDs.
    Some use them for coasters.

If this fails and the CD is unreadable, you can try tooth paste as a last resort.
Wet the CD and apply a generous amount of tooth paste and liquefy it into a runny paste.
Do the radial cleaning as a series of radial ovals around the disk.

    Rinse thoroughly, dry and test.
This has worked for me many times with Netflix DVDs that are all scratched and snotted.

You can also attempt to rip the CD audio disk to a digital file tracks using "Exact Audio Copy" which is a free Windows utility that does comprehensive track analysis and recovery.  You can then run Music Brainz Picard against the tracks to rename them.

  2. I find people are democrats for one or more of four reasons:  sex, drugs, socialism or Orange Man Bad.

I ask Catholics why they vote for the abortion party..  why the Jews vote for the spendthrift party, and get the same answer you did:  mom and dad did, so do we.

  3. I kept my 1991 after buying a new 2023 Tacoma, as the 1991 runs just fine, is reliable, cheap to insure and cheap to license.

I had to recently replace the 10-year old battery (oh darn), and the 10 year old tires need to be replaced.

COSTCO is the magic place for both the above to happen.

By far, I got the best battery deal and warranty at Costco.
    Will check into tires soon.

The lawyers have the car repair shops scared into replacing tires that are 5 years or older now.
    Piffle.

I was pleasantly surprised at the very high tread wear and temperature ratings on the new 2023 tires.

  4. The thieves like to target diesel trucks, because they can strip out the undercarriage smog equipment and sell for big bucks.
My shop told me their cost for parts alone is over $7,000, plus considerable labor to install again.

I'm all for dropping the jack on a car thief, then going back to bed for several hours.

  5. "It is enough that the people know there was an election.
The people who cast the votes decide nothing.
The people who count the votes decide everything."
    --Joe Stalin

"If the opposition disarms, well and good. If it refuses to disarm, we shall disarm it ourselves."
    --Joe Stalin

"We don't let them have ideas.
Why would we let them have guns?"
    --Joe Stalin

"Show me the man and I'll show you the crime."
--Lavrently Beria, Chief of Stalin's Secret Police

    Sound familiar?

  6. There is the possibility that NRA is too far gone.

One can smoke for years, do drugs, eat too much, pour down the booze then become fat, diabetic and riddled with heart disease.
At this stage of the game, it is too late to reverse the damage.
The best one can do is change habits then limp forward in a damaged condition.

In my mind, NRA needs a massive enema then a deep colonoscopy.
Getting rid of LaPierre was a good step, but many years too late and too much damage incurred.
The entitled, entrenched and enriched bureaucracy of the NRA has to go, and the organization must return to its roots, or it will die.

  7. They do not care about facts.
This is the long-term Marxist plan to first discourage, then eliminate firearm ownership.

Every dictator throughout history, as their first objective, the disarming of the citizens.

The George Soros villains, and clueless celebrities like John Mellencamp and Liam Neeson enable this.
And most Americans roll over and accept it...

  8. Old news.
CA made it very clear years ago, that ALL firearms must be registered.
This includes inherited guns that have been in the safe for 30 years, and any guns brought into CA.

This new bill is a tax.
CA is a massively broke state, and hungry for money (and fines).

They will search the DROS files that are online 24x7 to law enforcement, and soon to "researchers".

They can easily link the DROS database to the taxes-paid data base, then proceed to fine everybody who has not paid the yearly tax.
In addition to collecting more revenue, this will also discourage people from owning firearms.
And will encourage them to move out of CA.

  9. I saw that $400k figure and thought... "Wow, they stole 4 trucks?"

I drove by the local Ford dealer a while back and so those huge price tags in the windows.
No wonder there are 50+ unsold Fords alongside HW99 in Fresno...

When I picked up my new Tacoma in Fresno on December 5, the Toyota finance guy told me Ford hadn't moved a single truck in 60 days.
This was very different from the Toyota dealership where they only get one at a time after they sell they one they just received.

I'm not surprised, as there were others fighting over my truck, should I have not gotten there in 24 hours with a cashier's check they would have sold it to somebody else.

  10. Enclosed is what I call the Zero Liability Voter...

These are the button sellers, etc, one finds on Telegraph Ave in Berkeley and other liberal bastions of self-serving voters.

The Founding Fathers had it right... only property owners could vote, because only property owners were taxed.

  11. What scares me the most, are the poll results.

This tells me a huge number of voters do not yet have a belly full of inflation, crime, drugs, illegals, bums, corruption, fascism and boys pretending to be girls.

  12. Last September, we drove down from D.C. to Duncan, SC to visit my wife's brother.
BMW has a huge plant in Duncan, plus it is an "inland port" with a huge acreage of ocean going shipping containers.

The influx of non-local workers has spiked the housing in Duncan.
They are building Californicated cracker box housing as fast as they can manufacture nails.

Same goes for Boise, ID (my home town).
I don't even know the place anymore... crime, bums, drugs, horrible traffic, high density housing, bad air, and traffic helicopters.
ID is a wonderful state, but stay away from Boise and Boise Metro area.  Too Californicated.
I read that Ada County processes some 15,000 CA drivers licenses every year... no wonder Boise is Democrat. now.

  13. America comprises 19% of the world carbon foot print.
This means if you killed every man, woman and child so America goes dark... it only removes 19% of the carbon foot print.
This is akin to emptying the Atlantic Ocean with a tea spoon.

  14. You folks in Maryville... keep a close watch on your city council.
They will be mightily tempted to bend and allow the Californication of your town.

Small lots, shallow setbacks, zero lot lines and high density housing.
Your small town infrastructure is not designed to handle a high influx of traffic, power, water and sewage loads.

Do not yield to the siren song of more property tax revenue.
Once Californicated, it cannot be undone.
