I have a set of shotguns that have leather roll buttons from the knee down. They are easy enough to put on without having to remove your boots, and can be left unbuttoned if you want some ventilation.

Been using a few things from Magma for years. Used to be about a 15 minute drive from the house. Guess that won’t be the case anymore.

1 1/2F or 2F, and SPG lube.

Several ways the edge may have been burnished originally. Pictures might be helpful to point you in the right direction.

It's been many years since I bought my last pair of Paul Bond boots in Nogales, AZ... but they're holding up well. They're not just a glitzy Hollywood maker.
If your uppers are still in good shape, consider having them resoled. It can be difficult finding a good shop for that also, but... if they fit good, why toss 'em?
Paul Bond is certainly on the list. My dad has a pair of dress boots they made in Shark that are almost 50 years old. Granted they aren’t worn every day. I’ll probably go see them but they are certainly the highest cost of any of the makers I’m looking at.
my existing boots just aren’t holding up at all. I did 3 sets of soles, and at this point it would be like putting a brand new set of BFG’s on a Hugo from a junk yard.

Looking for recommendations of someone to make a pair of stovepipe boots to my measurements. Only got 3 years out of the first set of Abilene boots I bought, and the most recent set the quality has gone downhill. I had an appointment with David Espinoza in Phoenix to get measured for a pair, but unfortunately he passed away before we could get them started.

I believe the best group to target is the 45-65 age group. These are the ones who’s kids either have moved out or will be shortly, and who’ve generally gotten to a point in their careers that they have the disposable income to get serious in the sport. It sounds good to try to get the kids interested, and that they are the future of the sport, but as already mentioned they are far more likely to move on when they head to college or get exposed to the fumes (perfume, and exhaust fumes).

Ladle pour and develop a cadence to follow through the process.

But, since you know to what I refer, the same inference can be made, no?
I just still had the sense not to make it public.

Wouldn't "old school" be a bunch of guys sitting around with ink, pens and paper?
Pretty sure that is referred to as showing your age when that’s your point of reference.

good to hear you can run them, anyone figure out how to keep BIGFOOT from stepping on them or is that just the cost of doing business?
Get a couple stepped on per year, only had one or two that I couldn’t get back to shape and use again.

If it’s truly shooting low, and not shooter induced, then yes shortening the front sight will raise point of impact. That being said, I would venture to say the majority of SASS shooters have never actually confirmed where their guns are shooting, and have never adjusted the sights to make POA and POI match.

Adding Wads or increasing powder charge. Either will work just have to see how the rifle responds to it.
I drop tube my powder, add a .030 fiber wad and compress .200 with a compression die, then seat a .030 poly wad. Paper patch bullet patched to bore diameter is then slip fit into the case. My bullet is well beyond the start of the rifling. At some point I’d like to be able to recover a few fires bullets from this combo to see if there is any finning happening which would indicate I should make a taller wad stack.

I start using more compression and see what it gives you. I’m loading 112gr of Swiss 1 1/2 in a 50-90 with .200 compression. Also be interested if you are seeing any correlation between your cleaning, and velocity changes.

I know I have some Fiocchi shells that will occasionally stick in one barrel of my clays gun.

The competitors can certainly be involved in manipulating that thing. Just come help setup and tear down for the match. You will become familiar with it.

50 is a pretty wide spread. Single digit extreme spreads are attainable, certainly under 20. Which powder are you specifically using. I know when I switched from Old Einsford to Swiss my velocities went up substantially, and the velocity spread dropped by 90%. Your amount of compression can make a big difference here as well.

That would have been a good trick considering Starline doesn’t even make brass in that size.

Accurate moulds has a number of “big lube” style moulds in their catalog.

Assuming these are the Magtec brass shells. Dropping a box of them loaded will knock them out of round far enough they may not chamber. Been there done that, also the reason I went to the CH4D dies.

Best option is the dies from CH4D. The dies are a couple hundred $, but the most reliable method of keeping them working. Depending on your press you may need to upgrade it as well.

I thought it would work, but I need the Classic for the adult size cartridges.

Have about 3-4 cans left. Once I couldn’t get it anymore, and went to another powder for my cartridge stuff. It got relegated to my mortar.
give a call to Craig at Bear River Powder. He can give you a rundown on what happened with it. I believe there was basically a name change and it ended up being produced under another name.
