I moved to Viola Tennessee 15 years ago from Clearwater FL. I'm retired from GTE/Verizon Engineering & Construction. My family roots are Missouri and Iowa. I spent the summers on the farm with grandparents, aunts and uncles. I knew that someday I wanted to recapture the wonderful life that I experienced as a child on the farm. I am a single parent and raised my son and daughter. I wanted them to experience the majesty and beauty of country so upon retiring I bought 46 acres near Viola TN. Grandpa was with us at the time and part of the family. I'm surrounded by mountains. Got 4 dogs, chickens and guinea's. Had sheep but the coyotes killed most of them. I'm perfectly happy just hanging around and enjoying the beautiful area I'm living in now. A trip once a year would suit me fine ... no particular destination.
I'm not a farmer but I enjoy planting and watching stuff grow. In all I have planted about 60 fruit trees. I put out 24 pecans 5 years ago. I also planted a vineyard of about 225 vines. 
My son enlisted in the USAF in 2012 and currently is in Qatar in the Air National Guard. My daughter to graduated Tennessee Tech in Cookville and is now at ETSU going for her Masters. She married in June of this year. I attend First Baptist Church in Viola TN and have been a Christian since July 11th 1982. I love sharing my testimony and my faith.
I play a pretty good guitar and I have an extensive guitar collection. I also make wine from my vineyard (Viola Valley Vineyards). I love politics, I enjoy shooting at the gun range in Viola, and spend a lot of time in my workshop. Do not read enough books but I did enjoy the works of C.S. Lewis ...  Mere Christianity, Chronicles of Narnia, In His Steps by Sheldon, etc.
Operative words for me are trust, sincerity and transparency. I have about everything in life that I've ever wanted. I'm keeping an eye out for a good woman though : )
