  1. California: $100–$125+ (And Here’s Why)
California isn’t just expensive because FFLs feel like it. The state requires dealers to collect sales tax on the purchase price of the firearm (even though you already paid it to the online seller), plus an 11% firearm excise tax that kicked in July 2024, plus DROS fees, plus compliance costs. Discount Gun Mart in San Diego charges a $100 base, and by the time you add state fees and taxes, you’re looking at $150+ total. This isn’t price gouging—it’s California’s regulatory environment in action.

This person contacted me in regards to my WANTED post and was impersonating a member....BEWARE!!!

    Ridge Walker,

You posted your email address in your public profile!  Any scammer could email you.   I deleted it for you.

Also, in a post about a Marlin Centennial Model 1895/1995

    A post about a Springfield M1A 7.62 NATO (.308) Standard Grade rifle

    A post about Bullets Wanted

    Savage Bolt Action Rifles

and many more where you comment "e-mail me, do not PM".  This is the opposite of what should be done.

I deleted what I could find.

Be careful where you post your contact information.

I use the Wano Reenactor for shotgun, rifle and pistol.  Good stuff

I'm familiar with 2FG, 3FG, etc.  But I see Wano is uncoated fireworks grade.   What FA = 2FG?

  4. You were sent a note explaining the reason for pulling the post.  When you make an item to sell to multiple people, however many may ask for it, that is a commercial post.  I agree it's a good product.  You may not consider it a business, but the IRS does, and they want their cut.  (I believe at your price, once you sell 6 of them in a year... I am not a tax attorney, I don't even play one on TV.)  As per Classified Forum guidelines, commercial posts are not allowed.  As for others, we're dealing with them too.   If you wish to become a SASS Affiliated Merchant, that is another matter.  Further communication with us ought to be by PM, or you may contact the SASS office again.  They know of your post.

  5. If it were just the two of us, then I might do a nice steak, or roast the smallest turkey I could find, maybe a nice big roasting chicken.

But, this year my wife's sister and husband, her other sister and husband, my son, his wife, and their two girls, maybe the brother in law.

So we'll do the do.  Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms too!

CC: I hear you, dark meat turkey for me.

Deac, I got the same one.

They had your phone number earlier this week.  Not hard to find more information from that.  Although PWB deleted it here, your information is probably on a list stored somewhere in Nigeria... and with their stateside friends.

Everybody should do a backwards search, plug your email address or phone number into Google, and see where it shows up.

Just received an Email from cowboyshooting@icloud .com about an Item I have already discussed in PM with the legit SASS member. Does anyone need a copy so it can be stopped? My email isn’t on my profile or posts.

I did a quick search and found a post with your e-mail in it.  Also, those of Pick, and Sandy Creek Bob, answering a classified post from Beartrap, back in 2015.  I deleted it.  There may be more, but I haven't found any yet.  Scammers are patient; it's their job to hunt down information.   If there's one time we post our info online... They'll find it.

      Welcome to the fire !!

Don't wait , join SASS today----folks will respond better on the Wire to a member  versus a "Guest"

+1  Don't forget, ya gotta be a SASS member to post Sell/Buy or Trade ad in the Classifieds.

Made a deal with boggus deal via pm, and just a few minutes ago recived a scammer text from 616-310-1927 claiming to be ready to send the die, but at a different price.

    Be aware,

    Scammers are still at it

I know phone numbers can be duped.  But if you need the name and address that goes with that phone number, send me a PM

Iv'e been using this since 1994 and never seen this before.

Since yer posting and replying in the Saloon... the problem isn't the whole Saloon, it must be certain threads.  A screen shot of the which ones you're attempting to reply to would help.  Or if you can, hit "report" on the first post in that thread, and leave a note to us.

  11. Apparently, someone chose to hijack this thread with their own grievance with SASS.

Nothing is gained by a complaint aired by one side without the input from the other.

The Wire doesn't get to settle conflicts within SASS by consensus, including opinions of those who don't even participate in the game, but hang out on the Wire.

You are calling out Misty in your comments.  But she is right there.  So is much of the advisory board.  Did you approach her?  Does she even know?

This whole thing reads like you are taking a swipe at SASS because things didn't go the way you thought they should.

But you left important parties out.

Airing this grievance on the wire in this way to apply leverage against Land Run is wholly inappropriate.

  13. There is another major Invision update coming soon.  I don't know if that will change how things look or feel.  I'm looking in their community forum to see if there's a preview.

I've often wondered if we need to truncate some of the very long threads, over 1000 pages, to just a 100 pages or so.

    Things may load faster.

Does anyone see a problem with pruning Wordy Words 1 or 2, or the meme thread?

BTW: I have half of a pound of Clays left that I can use up for now.

I found that for point of impact consistency, I shouldn't go below 3.4 gr. with Clays.    So, that's my load with a 160gr bullet.  Works nicely.

There's some Jackwagon scammer using this email: fb6222359@gmail.com and posing as me.  Its not.  I work through PM's for initial contact and provide my email/phone/address through that medium.

Exactly!  When our overly trusting members post their email addresses and phone numbers, anybody, anywhere, can see that.  Armed with that information, they can find out just about anything about someone.

  16. Type your e-mail address into Google's Search Bar.  (Google casts the widest net.)

If your e-mail address shows up in a SASS Wire post, delete the e-mail info.  If you can't, report it to us to delete it for you.

This is how scammers are finding your personal contact information and attempting to intercept payments by posing as the seller.
