  1. The last time I tried to by the hatter out Cave Creek way he was not open on weekends. Make plans accordingly.
  2. I like my Pietta 1886 Winchester clone. It is true to the original and accurate.
  3. I’m curious why our TG is not listed.
  4. I recommend you read up on mold beagling. I did it to increase the diameter of my .406 bullets for 40-82. All you need is the aluminum duct sealing tape. My article on the topic is on the Guns magazine website or you can check out castboolits.com and search for beagling bullets.
  5. You have to be a SASS member to sell here or offer to sell.
  6. Just an FYI, the Colt screwdrivers were manufactured by Diamond (roller) Chain Company in Indianapolis, IN for Colt. The factory was just torn down two months ago. The factory was built on a graveyard. I worked there for 11 years.
  7. Statistically speaking, 50% of all doctors graduated at the bottom of their class.
  8. A study I read 20 years ago recommended eating raw onions and garlic to remove heavy metals.
  9. It's like the difference between a pond and a lake, according to Ray Scott, founder of BASS. It all depends on whether you're buying or selling property. If you're selling, it's a lake. If you're buying, it's a pond.

  11. I foresee 30 years from now the son will want to have the gun refinished back to how dear old dad bought it originally because that's how dad would have wanted it.
  12. Click Bait. He is trying to monetize his Youtube channel. The more views, followers, and likes he gets, the more he goes up.
  13. I used to shoot with a guy that used a .36 C&B. He would always warn the spotters that he was using it and please be alert for hits. I did my best.
  14. Back when I used to go the Friendship for the NMLRA spring shoot, they held a night fire to entertain the folks. Fire and Smoke, what a rush I got, as the song goes.
  15. So it makes more of a pa-tang when it hits the target at 300 fps!
  16. It may depend on your powder. I used to have a .357 that put on a heck of a pyrotechnic show at dusk which was fun. As others have said, check the gap on both revolvers to compare. I have a few Uberti revolvers that have no visible gap, which may cause issues if I use them heavily. There is a reason you are not supposed to hold a revolver around the cylinder with the support hand. Flame can be normal. A gap is required to prevent cylinder drag as carbon builds while shooting.
  17. Exactly. I used to shoot with three top shooters. They were always competing for the top at the local match, urging each other to do their best, putting in long hours of practice, and attending every match they could for more time behind the gun. One was extremely fast and when he shot in EOT he placed third, but was within ten seconds of first and second place. I agree, one second per stage can make or break a shooter that good.
  18. Thanks! It is my first time in AH but there are more to come. I recommend you listen to the GUNS podcasts or watch the YouTube channel. GUNS and AH are very pro-revolver-oriented.
  19. I have not kept in contact with any artists. You might try going to local 19th-century historical events and asking who does it in your area. It's not that hard to do what has been done to the grips. You carefully scratch a line with a study pin, then smear ink in it. Repeat until you have the pattern you want. I have also known artists who made patterns with dots, lots of dots. This site has a few links to artists. https://www.scrimshaw.com/scrimshaw-artists/
  20. I am interested in seeing more about the ammonia fueled engines. They are supposed to be a replacement for EVs but who knows.
  21. I ended up with two so one needs to go. $75 shipped partially disassembled to fit in a flat-rate box. What you see is what you get. No more, no less. I recommend an aftermarket heating plate to mount it on. It doesn’t come with one. This is sold, pending funds.
  22. Thanks. It keeps me off the streets. https://gunsmagazine.com/?s=Garbers
  23. Please subscribe to GUNS and American Handgunner. My article on the Black Bart commemorative Colt is in the latest issue of AH. I have not seen a copy yet.
