  1. I sometimes carry a 3" .45 1911. Short mag in the gun, longer mag on the belt. An extra one ( or 2) rounds don't take up any extra room. And you never know, you might need them.
  2. How about Tether Ball ( at school ) and kick the can, usually after dark, played in front of someone's house that had A very bright porch light.
  3. I thought he might be thinking about"Going up country" .
  4. My grandson's still sits on the front porch. The place wouldn't be the same without it.
  5. Plus one to Molly's. I've seen several of her buckles, very nice work.
  6. I thought Tom Cruise did a good job in the Jack Reacher movies ..... until I watched Alan Richson in the Reacher series. ...And no, I haven't read the books. But that may change.
  7. Spot snaps, or Lift a Dot snaps . Avaliable on the internet. The swivel clasp, or snaffle bits ,are available in most leather shops or horse tack outlets. They're commonly used on bridle reins. Also available on the web.
  8. I'll make the change to Elder Statesman at the end of this month. The problem is that all those guys I couldn't outrun before will be moving up also. Choctaw
  9. Have you tried scrap metal dealers? There are several listed in your area, and more in El Paso. Choctaw
  10. I have several different models of Nebo lights. Really like them. Seem to be very durable, very bright, reasonably priced. I recommend them. Choctaw
  11. Been there, done that! I was the only non Spanish speaking (or so my co-workers thought) employee in a shop of 21 I let them go on about " the new guy" ( me ) for most of the first day. When I joined in the conversation, in Spanish, there were some pretty surprised and embarrassed faces in the crowd. Never had them talk behind my back in front of my face after that! Choctaw
  12. Heard the term since I could remember. Common usage in these parts.
  13. We moved from Oklahoma to New Mexico when I was 8. Lost most of my Okie accent by the time I was 11 or 12. My friends never mentioned it growing up, so I figured it was gone. I moved to Las Cruces in my early twenties, and my Spanish speaking co-workers used to laugh at me because they had never heard Spanish spoken with an Okie accent. My kids say it resurfaces once in a while, usually when I'm pi$$Ed off. Choctaw
  14. In many market segments, if Krogers buys Albertsons/ Safeway it will create , in effect, a marketplace monopolized by Krogers. They will have to take steps to satisfy the federal regulations against such conditions. Just sayin' , Choctaw
  15. I can also recommend Ken Griner. He's done a pair of 71's for me, and I'm currently waiting on a pair of RM 1860's that he's working his magic on. Ken does a great job, and he is a great guy to do business with. Choctaw Jack
  16. +1 to Diamond Jake's method. I load on a Dillon 550, using Dillon 45 Colt dies. Since there are only 4 stations available, I use the seating die to seat only and a Lee FCD to crimp. I do a visual check to make sure each case is charged. I bought an LED light that goes under the tool head ( Unique Tek maybe?) that makes it easy to see into the cases. This setup may not be ideal, but it works well for me. Of course, YMMV Choctaw Jack
  17. Aqua- Net hair spray. Not home-made, but very inexpensive. Goes on clear and gives a little water shedding properties also. Choctaw
  18. Just wonderin'....... Are match shooters allowed, or even encouraged, to "go heeled " in town after the match? Askin' for a friend. Choctaw
  19. With his history, he should have been born entirely black on Friday the 13th.
  20. Send them to Ken Griner at Griners Gunworks, and have him look them over.
