I have a Thumlers Vibratory tumbler. Works great, quiet, no issues.

I recently saw a set of Rugers that Boomstick bead blasted for a club member here. It was a two tone job so just the top strap and top of barrel and sight were done along with the ejector rod housing. Looked great and would cut down on that shiny issue.

When I first tried CAS, I wasn't setup to reload .38. I bought 1000 rounds of ammo from Georgia-Arms. Didn't have a single issue with their ammo. I kept all the brass and then used it when I was tooled up to reload .38. This may be the simple way to start, it was for me.
PS. I just checked their website again, 1000 rounds (Canned Heat) is only $250.00.
I just looked at some price tags on my bench, I will let you do the math.
1 LB bottle of Bullseye - 25.99 (7,000 grn / pound) so depending on your load....
1 Box 1000 Federal SP Primers - 35.99
500 Once Fired .38 brass from gunbroker - 45.00
500 Precision Bullets - Molly coated - 39.00

I like seeing a lot of awards at a big match. I have no problem with awards outside the top 5 or top 10 overall or in each catagory as long as only the top overall receive the Cadillac.

BTW, A couple of use has sent them a request for a Plainsman side match. If others are interested, send them a reuqest via email. We would love to see Plainsman on the schedule.

I emailed Patrick at BadMan bullets and he stated Poly are a no-go with Real BP without a grease wad. Subs are fine. I have heard mixed stories with the Moly (Bear Creek Bullets) and BP, but I would still want some sort of lube with real BP.

I've been shooting them for almost 2 years now and I like'em. A single patch down the bore is usually all that's needed. I shoot the ones with no lube or crimp groove so I get the most flexability with OAL and now only buy a sigle bullet for all our cowboy guns.

I'll add another vote for the Cimarron 89. Johnny Meadows slicked it up and cut the barrels to 20". Points and shoots great. Cheaper than an SKB.

Looking forward to it. It'll be our first time to shoot Bayou Blast. I hear the vittles are good.
