  1. Mine defaults and returns back to "Status Updates" every time I tried it.  I have to manually change it for each new search.  Thanks for pointing this out Allie,  it is a little annoying but now that I see what's happening, I can deal with it.

  2. I was going to give a wise ass reply in a different thread (Surprised? :D ) and an interesting question came to mind.

Nevada sweeps don't have to start on an end target, they can start in the middle. What would be your reaction if a stage called for the shooter to use the rifle to perform two separate Nevada sweeps, both starting in the middle and going in either direction?

You'd have to remember to double tap the center with the fifth and sixth rounds. I think that would be pretty cool with pistols, but think it might be considered a P trap for rifles.

As Major B.S. Walker pointed out, we do a similar type of Nevada Sweep and it is quite popular. We are generally using 5 targets, start on the middle and go one direction then the other direction. I think you are suggesting doing it with just 3 targets. That would be an interesting variation and would be a bit more challenging with the rifle since it is not so intuitive where the first set ends and the second begins and someone missing the double tap would likely occur. I agree it would be cool with the pistols but as a gunfighter I like any stage the doesn't let the 2 handed shooters to dump a bunch of rounds on a single target. ;)

And, I agree with Singin Sue that there are no P traps. Part of the joy and the challenge of this game is to test your ability to follow a sequence of instructions. Even if that means you may have to slow down a bit and think about what you're doing. Personally, on almost every P I've ever gotten, I shot the stage exactly as I intended. It was just that my intentions didn't quite match the instructions. :o:wacko:

btw; if a wise ass reply comes to mind, by all means, share it with us. If it's really good, I'll add it to my collection of favorites.

  3.

As if I didn't love you enough already. You still can't have my Bud Lite, but this is AWESOME!

I know how much this is hated in some circles but, I'd love to see some bonus targets thrown into the mix.

Since Dam Site is limited to 100 shooters, maybe bring back the Texas Star. Hopefully resetting time wouldn't cause problems with a slightly smaller match.

Haven't seen a required reload, either rifle or pistol in ages, that would definitely be a throw-back.

Wow, No Bonus targets, No Texas Star, and not even a Rifle Reload!

What do y'all do for fun? Shoot Nevada Sweeps?

Wait a minute... You're in Nevada, Do ya just call 'em sweeps?

  4. My Miroku Winchesterhas one problem. It ejects all my fired brass downrange out the front of the stage making it impossible to recover till after the end of the match. Has anyone else been through this situation? Any fixes? Irish Pat

It sounds like a timing/tuning thing.

If you have or can borrow a GoPro or similar camera that you can mount on your hat/head you could take some video and watch it in SloMo to see what's actually happening with the brass when it ejects. You could also video another rifle like a Uberti that ejects back over your head for comparison.

The fix could be something fairly simple as tweaking the extractor hook or a bit more complex as the timing of the position of the bolt when the carrier makes contact with the brass.

You could do like Grey Beard and have the rifle tuned by a '73 specialist and that may take care of it.

My rifles are all CodyMatics and like to deposit the brass on my hat, or if I'm not wearing a hat they just go in the collar of my shirt, Ouch!

  5. I fully respect an individual or business owner's privilege to set their own rules for their private domain. Your house, your rules. If I can't abide by them I just won't come visiting.

We have a gun shop here that has all sorts of signs, banners, literature proclaiming the right to keep and bear arms. They'll even help you join up and/or donate funds to help the cause. However; a sign on the door informs you that only law enforcement may carry loaded guns inside their store.

I've really wanted to point out the apparent discontinuity but since they also generously support some of the annual shoots we have I just let it go and don't go in armed when I'm there. It's also since all their employees are opening displaying their own weapons I wouldn't want to provoke anyone.

I do sometimes think I should call and inform the owner as to the reason I choose not to visit his store very often.
