THANKS Looks like several options. The new Marlin is a REMLIN, hope they have improved quality. Any tips on slicking the NEW REMLIN verses the old JM models?

Just bought a new Marlin 1894 45LC. Plan to smooth out the action replacing springs and firing pin. What's the best way to eliminate the trigger wiggle? Install the Trigger Happy for $100 or is there a simpler / cheaper fix???

This was my very first post on the wire. Previously bought and sold things on the Classified. I sincerely appreciate all the opinions and sound advise. I totally agree that the firearm must shoot better than you do, if you plan to improve. I like purchasing a race ready firearm ( paying for the time and disappointment saved). Part of the shooting experience is working on your firearm, and gaining knowledge in it's operation / maintenance. Don't mind taking things apart or getting my old retired hands dirty. I have smoothed out several Marlin 1894's for other club members. Just purchased a new Marlin 1894 45lc ( yes a brand new REMLIN) hope I can made it run fast/smooth. We don't hear too many good things about the none JM rifles. Thanks

Thanks I've never seen one of these rifles. My experience with other factory competition products suggested it may very well need more custom touches to satisfy me. I like the ideal of buying a total package rifle from an expert craftsman. Or just building it myself starting with a new rifle and components from Long hunter, Pioneer, Brownells, etc. I appreciate the input from other folks on the wire, it's helpful and reassuring. Buying a new rifle, anyone have experience with Uberti's Competition Model 342900. It comes standard with many upgrades but am I better off buying a basic rifle and adding the short stroke kit etc. Would I be pleased with the factory tune or no ????
