  1. Never saw the need for extra cylinders. Much easier to reload between stages. I no longer fire caps to clear chambers before a match. I use a can of compressed air (Dust-Off or similar brand). The little plastic tube fits inside the nipple and a quick shot of air clears out the flash hole.
  2. Yep get to a match and see how it works. Try others rifles when given the chance. See what you like.
  3. It’s not the lack of the loading gate, the problem is that the action design will not function properly when cycled very fast. This is especially true of the 38/357 rifles. The 45 Colt rifles are a little better.
  4. Rather than post 15 separate posts, I'll paste a link to the top level page and you can scroll down to the links that interest you. https://www.nraila.org/email/grassroots-alerts/2024/vol-31-no-3-01162024/
  5. Being as post marks are now done at the postal hubs and not the local post office, Narrowing down where a letter was mailed from just by the postmark would be rather difficult. A given hub may cover towns a hundred or more miles away. To avoid cameras all you would need to do is place the letter in a random residential mail box and raise the flag. Carrier picks it up and it goes into the outgoing mail bin. Those are collected and bagged at the local PO and at the end of the day the bag is sent to the USPS hub where it enters automated machines that determine the final destination, apply the correct bar code and verify the correct postage, and then post mark the letter.
  6. I have a 30-30 Marlin with a 24" octagon barrel that was rebored by JES to 38-88. I picked it up here on the wire several years ago. The barrel slugs at .375" and it's a tack driver with jacketed as well as cast bullets. Only thing I wish had been done was that at the time it was rebored was to X out 30-30 and remark the caliber as 38-55
  7. "Chad doing a herding dog demonstration at the Putnam County Fair in Cookeville, TN. It was a small part of the demonstrations he did with our border collies herding ducks. The dogs are imported Roy, imported Lass, and Celt"
  8. Some Texas counties have local ordinances against discharging firearms on parcels less than 10 acres in size. Typically this is geared to prohibiting hunting on less than 10 acres but some counties expand it to include any shooting.
  9. During the first Gulf War the RAF experimented with a pink camouflage scheme on some aircraft. Worked well during the day but didn't do so well at night.
