  1. i think its "baby on board" but ill bow to any other , better , response , ive always had two wheel golf carts for my 3-dgun and SASS carts , but i used a 3-wheeler for sporting clays , all of mine have nul0n and vinyl , those modern gunrack holders , im lighter than most and im still carrying an umbrella , water , and ceegar stuff too , i do carry one extra stage of amo generally and a little cash if there is a brass picking kid to pay ,
  2. i for one enjoyed the post , i do agree with all the responses that followed as they speak the truth , that said , the interesting aspects to me of intellectualism is that after careful reflection and study , as well as perfection of their communication some , not all , decide they know what is best for all , my example would be jim jones , or charlie manson of our era , as well as pol pot , im going out on a limb and thinking hitler and marx / lennon / stalin of the previous era , ill ignore the south americans for this discussion i realize that in your context you were referring more to those that would have been persecuted by these examples but ...we cant ignore those that succeeded and them eliminated their adversaries can we ? then we need to discuss the social destruction their thinking resulted in all the while promising utopia for the masses , im not a great thinker in this world - i only see where so much has gone wrong by some that thought too far , im also not a fatalist , i believe there is good and it can prevail as long as those that dont think start to and those that do think, dont overthink , if that makes any sense at all you get my thinking ,
  3. ya me too - but his furry little face was familiar , my alarm clock telling he it was time to go take a poo ..........bad thing was it was before the alarm clock was set for and i was t=ierd , but hey - if ya got a dog its whayt happens you need to talk o the wife about the decor choices - im not sure id like that one
  4. i dont think we are in kansas anymore we had total dry and warm for most of dec- march now all of a sudden we have snow and colder weather [like normal chit we usually get] so whatever anyone in the country tells me these days they are getting im believing , ive lived here more than half my life now -over 40 years , hard to believe that -- ive seen record lows and record snows , ive seen record rains and flooding , trendsetting wildfires , ive seen bears in town and wolves just out of town , ive seen a cougar - now ive seen a dry /warm winter ............i never thought id say that in this lifetime i know - climate change - OK , but dont rush to turn anything over to the government , they have a track record of messin things up
  5. pa6t - until you mentioned that - and i went back to look - i missed that , i like that guy more now ............i like cigars , and that actually looks like a decent one , my question would be how do i get a good supply of them into the trenches of 1917 ?
  6. ive always wondered why we dont build new ones of these old ones that worked so well , there are some things in life that were done correctly in spite of what some might think
  7. its an adjustment thing , kinda like after the bachelor party , it just takes a bit of time everything in moderation
  8. glad to have you back ,i guess i was fortunate to only need a pacemaker - i only had a 6 week recovery period that had no rehab just a few restrictions , i was just going to rest a bit - my wife called the ambulance i was sure they would ut a bunch f restrictions and diet stuff on me they didnt , im glad you and i are doing it again this year - not that im comparing mine to yours as im not , only the momentary thinking setback , i got off easy - you went through Hell
  9. i agree , my father was on saipan when the bombs left tinnian , he always said that was the date that took the inversion off the agenda , it stopped the worst nightmare america might have ever lived - not because we wouldn't have won , but the cost of lives doing it on both sides , today i reflect on his service , then growing up having an adopted japanese aunt that took care of me as a child , because one of his friends brought home a "war bride" after occupation , now being married to a woman that was a navy brat raised in japan till high school , things might have been so very much different had we not dropped those bombs came back to add - it also opened the eyes of the world as to what this actually was and meant , i think its why we have not seen another in anger so far , today that all might change tho , i have fear that we shall see it again before im gone
  10. abought the fact that taking older folks to historical sights might actually bring back childhood memories ? im only asking because i had occasion to discuss a black hills trip with my wife recently -our niece has been hired by a theater out there in custer state park for a production we intend to attend , she will be in multiple presentations so when discussing this trip it was mentioned that my wife wants to take two of our grand daughters out to another , it started me thinking about her making memories with those two girls ........... a little over a decade ago my mother started to decline on one trip back to see her she asked me to visit a cemetery id never been to - at that point i was of a mind to take her anywhere she wanted to go , i didnt at that time realize she was in the early stages of Alzheimer's , anyway we were going looking for ancestral graves she said - OK , i thought that might be educational and i knew she had spent years compiling a family tree , when we got there she took me to an area that was really remote in this cemetery , we walked for a couple hours around the graves , she finally found two tiny stones with a simple name and date , to me it was a historic part of that cemetary , all pioneers of late 1800s it seemed , the two names were her sisters she had never known , - they died in the late 1890s and she was not born till the early 1920s , they were twins , my grandmother had seven children , only one boy , two sets of twins , the other two are a bit over 80 now , anyway , it was a new experience for me ....but even tho she acted like it was a new thing till we found them , i could sense there was a rush of childhood when we found thise two stones that day , ive not been back , ive not been back to my parents or grandparents graves for a while , i always get a rush of childhood when i do , the black hills bring those feelings to me , as a kid i remember family vacations that revolved around things in that area , whenever i visit i remember them , i know im going to remember them this summer again , im also thinking i need to walk a couple cemeteries again soon , different families , different times but all coming together over time
  11. im not tryig to hyjack but the RNFP round nose flat point work better in the rifles and revolvers overall , just sayin ,
  12. i got the hankerin a bit back and asked my leather lady - she made a lot of stuff for me , we talked it over and i thought chinks , but , they never got made and now im getting older and thinking maybe im just as well off without , its been three years , maybe its a sign ,- fun as they might be i know they would be warm , maybe i dont need them
  13. my wife has a good number but most of them are sensible these days - the heels are very few as we dont do things that she might feel the need to wear them for [whatever that might be] i wear jeans /she wears comfortable shoes
  14. you may be right - ive been wrong so many times i cant remember them all , but yes , the idea that an elected official would be so stupid as to say such a thing out loud on national media - and stay elected , but yes , there are a lot of them , once elected apparently protected ?
  15. huh , so ,i guess that the pull cords would be a good thing then ? right ? i like them , you like them , i guess we all should seek out that solution , i thought the thread might be better served by them , i like the supple ropes better than that cheap stiff stuff tho
  16. every island we took in the pacific campaign was hard fought , we hear mostly of the european campaign in general , at least when i was growing up - but my father fought in the pacific so i heard more of that , the strategy was far more clear to those looking from the outside and in hindsight , it was a path to japan , we needed bases that would support the new aircraft and we needed to eliminate the threats to those bases , mitchell showed what could be done - we just needed to do it efficiently with full force ..............and we did , by both bringing the forces to take the islands then the force to carve out the airstrip s , then the aircraft that could deliver and protect , as well as a plan B , that prevented us needing to invade on the ground like we did in europe , we saved a lot of american lives and japanese lives , to bring this to present day , i guess that proves we dont need to worry of "tipping the island over" as that senator suggested when we thought to expand our military base presence on the island a while back ,
  17. thats a really nice platform for a gun cart , as you can see there are lots of suggestions , but i needed to chirp in to say "WELL DONE" i envy you , mime have always revolved around a golf bag cart , i like minimalist approach , but these are far more versatile and maneuverable , i like the packability but the stability of the buggy platform has always made sense to me , just dont "overbuild" it keep it simple and efficient
  18. i hear that sort of thing as well , i realize that some "buzz" words get a lot of use when in vogue but once "old" get scoffed at , i also get distracted when i hear them , i live in a world of a lot of high school kids - not talking to me so much ads overhearing them , i forgot how that age group picked up on the 'words of the day' over the years , now i remember some like "groovy" and "groty" that i never really used and would never consider using these days , but in reflection i think they were more mood descriptive back then - it seemed less political , but then i was far less politically aware then , maybe i just didnt get it , maybe i still dont but today all these changed words are very obviously political - "immigrants" come legally , the "invaders" are coming illegally even if our federal government is facilitating it , just my 2 bits but thats words im not confused about ............... the "awesome" thing has always bugged me - it often seems dismissive, as if the listener has not heard or cant hear , or woint hear the thought that has been expressed and just wants it to go away with a seemingly positive response , i have very seldom used that word and when i did it was because something extremely big impressed me - ilke seeing the northern lights on a remote canadian lake in full display - that was awesome , other things are pretty cool or interesting in comparison , but them i doubt most that use that word regularly have seen the northern lights on a remote canadian lake , as far as "yummy" goes - they better be talkin of good food or im looking at them with a cocked eyebrow and keeping my distance , there are trust issues coming up with that one , OH and im armed , just so there is no question on where i stand on that BS , the closet is by the front door if you missed it
  19. he was always one of my favorite characters in the movies i saw him in , believable and fun , added a lot to the show ,
  20. these were not my grandparents - they were my parents and yes , in spite of the time lapse they did relive some old fears and fun when i faced viet nam , they were very open and frank ,
  21. oh that looks like fun - not , we here are celebrating the lack of that this year , if you dont have it and want it come here next year - im sure we will have at least 6 months of it , sometimes more , im wanting none of that the rest of my life so working on that big move to end life without ,
