  1. I don't know about any of the other carriers, but FedEx contract a lot of their routes under FedEx name.

My last boss almost bought 5 truck routes from FedEx.

Read the side of those delivery vans most are going to have a contractors name on it. It's like buying into a franchise

I seem to remember a story about a store like that only it was a grocery store in Europe somewhere.

    Found it

It was walmart that I read, said something about losing to much money to theft. Until the Dr's get my mess right all I have done is read, read way to much for my small brain.

I get a whole lot of mail from various gun organizations.
    GOA, GOC, CRPA, VCDL,

The others appear to be more email harvesters, which cause all sorts of advertising in my inbox.
All these "gun" orgs are asking for money.

Anybody have names known to be scams?
I like to donate to active litigators such as GOA, etc.

We used to be members of CRPA when we were residents.  Seemed to be a good org.

What Kris said, CRPA does or did try like hell to keep a good fight going for your right. But I am afraid they might be losing the battle because people are leaving California

I have read similar articles about walmart and I think it was home depot. Said they were bring in a new system that when you enter the store it scans your card automatically  and then everything you put in your basket gets scanned, or it is something like that. I read the article 8 months ago and I have a hard time remembering last week

My old friend Mark and his missus hauled stakes from california's Central Valley summer before last, and headed to Tennessee.  A good guy; one of those "salt of the Earth" types.  Worked hard, raised two fine youngsters, helped us secede from a huge school district and form our own, served on the School Board for eight years - six as board president for a small district that started with one elementary and now has five award-winning schools.

They bought a house and settled in a semi-rural area near Jackson.  One day shortly after moving, Mark was walking his dog and came across a neighbor who was watering his lawn.  Mark meandered over to the fella and introduced himself.  The gentleman - who turned out to be a LEO - politely returned the introduction, but seemed a bit reserved.  After a moment, he asked Mark where he was from.

Mark sighed... and confessed to being from california.  The neighbor maintained a blank expression.  Mark then added "We're here now.  We left california forever - and by God, we've moved back to America!"

The fella slowly smiled, shook Mark's hand, and said "Welcome Home!"

I always say, please don't hold it against me but I am from california

I have lived in California 4 different times (what was it Einstein said?)

Actually, each time I moved there it was for work. I grew to hate California over time because of the laws, regulations, fees and taxes.
When I moved back there in 2018 I did so because I wanted my wife to live close to her only grandson before he turned 18 and went off to school or the military. My plan was to stay until 2025.
After putting up with the government, the public and my job during the idiocy of Covid and the way I was treated at work I said “Screw It! We’re leaving”

I do not regret leaving there.

People say “Fight the good fight”, “Stay and help us beat these subversive d’bags”, “We need people like you to stay!”

I tell them “I came here in December of ‘82. This place has Progressively gotten worse. I helped fight the good fight. No one will fight the dirty fight so I gotta go.”

What was it that Einstein said?

I miss friends and loved ones living there, but that state is too far gone to fix now.

I lived there the majority of my life and I agree with you 100% I seen it go from a.very cool place to something I would never go back to live in. My mother and 1 son is the only reason I even go back into California for.

    Canada voted for this.
I wonder if they like what they voted for.

I was talking to a Canadian just 2 days ago, and they are in the same fix as California and some other states are in, something about fair elections. This Canadian was saying the same exact thing most of the US is saying about the present  administration

  9. Lumpy I was driving donner the same time frame, thats where this happened between state line and truckee going west bound. There was no caging brakes and 80 was opened and closed 6 times I knew of and one of them was for 36 hours rough week up here last week

And as far as chains it was a mix of max. to min. to no chains and any where state line to gold run (about 120 miles) there was 4+ feet of snow on donner and most of it was from Tues storm

  10. George was my friend, shot with him for a number of years, he wrote good stages, always willing to help anybody that needed it from beginner to experienced. He was positively without a doubt a man to ride the river with. I am glad I knew him as long as I did and prode to call him a friend.

    RIP George

  11. Let's not forget:

    So many LEO deaths that we nearly became numbed to it;

    A political climate so toxic and corrupt that two candidates who had higher negative than positive numbers emerged for the presidency;

A level of divisiveness among groups in our nation so bad and so prevalent it actually makes me begin to wonder about conspiracy theories.

I could go on, but then I start veering strongly toward the political.

I hope 2017 is better. Any worse and we had better start watching for asteroids.

And 138 LEO'S were LOD deaths this year but then again they were only LEO'S

    +1

  12. This clinical, mathematical, astrological, astronautical stuff is ...... KRAP. Winter starts at FIRST SNOW. PERIOD. Any of those over educated know-it-all's think it ain't winter are welcome to stroll down to the local market in their Sandals, Shorts and T-Shirts.

    Coffinmaker

LOL you are funny CC, I put chains on the semi I drive in jeans and t-shirt (i do not wear sandals) most recent in a snow storm with winds up to 70 mph, although my wife did find out and made me buy one of those bright yellow safety wind breaker but now I just fell like a target

  13. Anybody tried a 12Ga plastic wad cut down to be just a shot cup on top of the fiber compression wad?? Good?? Bad??

Coffinmaker I do works better then blowing a hole in your shot, I was loading plastic for my son and his 87 he hit everything but my brass shells would not hit a thing

I have tried that, it worked just fine. Sure was better then dumping shot right on just the fiber wad (blew hole in shot pattern. I just went to the full platic wads for simplicity... was easier then cutting the shot cups off.

Major Art Tillery Have to try the whole wad now

I load my Brass shells totally different then everybody else here, a friend of mine made me a deprimeing tool I also prime and reload on an old Texan reloading press, drop my powder overpowder card, plastic wad (for now looking at alternatives) shot, then I press in a 10 gauge overpowder card
