  1. Going to Trailhead this weekend(March 28th thru 31st). This 5 LB cannister has been opened and I loaded about 20 45/70 rounds. I opened a 9 oz bottle of Trailboss and weighed out the amount to load 20 45/70 rounds and put that much back. I like 3031 and 5744 powder better. My scale says that the bottle weighs 5.4 lbs now(Includes the weight of the bottle). I am wanting to trade for an 1873 Uberti 357/38 short rifle or carbine. There is nothing wrong with wanting so quit laughing! I am seeing all of this crazy pricing and figuring, "why not ask"? There is a current ad on Gun Broker for 9oz for $250 and 5lbs for $1,750.
  2. SD, that is not two different cartridges. That is a diagram of the case and the chamber.
  3. I remember that night, up until we left Big Nose Kate's. Diamond Lilly drove back to the Hotel. I misplaced some money on the bar while drinking whiskey with Cole Trigger, Diamond Lilly, Taco Bill, Irish Pat, Cubby, Billy Boots and Sassy Boots and company!!!!! Gal in the middle is Harley, our bartender.
  4. Congrats Slick!!!!! Congrats Jamie!!!!!! Slick was on target as usual. Jamie was so good for just starting Classic Cowgirl! Was a whole lot of fun shooting with y'all! That dance that Jamie did after a good stage was priceless, as was the dance you did on the same stage when shooting after her!!!
  5. Tried sending a message and it would not go through.

  7. I will send a check if that is what you would like.  Whatever you want is ok!

  8. Hoss, nothing that is real history. This gun once belonged to a friend of mine, Clyde "Snooky" Williamson. He wrote the book "The Winchester Lever Legacy". He passed in 1984 of Liver cancer. He liked Taco Bill and I to come shoot his different Winchester model with his cast bullet loads to show that the "Old Timers" could still be useful in the game fields. Anyway, way back then he was selling some of his Winchesters. I had no money back then and I could not buy any of his nice Winchesters and always liked his collection of 1886 models. The fellow that he sold this gun to later sold it to Cabela's A collector in Natchez told me about the gun going to Cabela's and I bought it I did not know the whole story about the gun until the collector in Natchez told me the rest of the story on Saturday. I have had this gun for a number of years and did not know it was at one time in Snooky's collection that I had admired in the late 1980's. I just thought it was another 1886 that would be a good investment. I am now going to find a 40-65 barrel to put it back in it's original configuration.
  9. Woodfox, My friend Bob Blair did get a letter for me. That is why I know what I know. The letter was lost when he kicked the bucket.
  10. TS, I looked at Guns International, Gun Broker and Guns America. Not many guns like that around and some on those sites are a lot higher than, no way higher than this! Deluxe Winchester 1886's in the second year of production. I am learning but there are people out there that know a lot more than I do. I am open for schooling!
  11. Hoss, I had one in 30/40 Krag and it kicked more than this 35. I figured if I was going to get kicked, I might as well get something bigger! If I still have this gun then, I will shoot the WB match with you cause I am going to Texas State also! Did you shoot Fort Parker long range? You usually win it. I could not make it to FP this year. Rip Snorter, if you are providing information on pricing, you should direct people to look at Gun Broker, Guns International and Guns America. The Midway video does not appear to have current pricing for 1895 Winchesters. The video of Harry Potterfield is informative. If you are insinuating that I am asking too much, that is my choice. If you are trying to be helpful, Thank you!
  12. 1895 Winchester made in 1907. 35 Winchester Centerfire Caliber. Good for anything in North America including the big bears, moose, elk and bad people. President Teddy Roosevelt used one in 405 caliber for lions in Africa. Called it his big medicine. Strong rifling. Comes with 50 loaded rounds and 15 empty brass. I have a friend with the reloading dies so I never bought any. Shoots any 35 caliber rifle bullet loaded into the 35 WCF case and for plinking, you can load the same bullet as the 357 magnum pistol. Lots of blue left on the gun and the stocks, except for the forend which has a blemish or two, is good with varnish still present. Text 225-324-2100 I am located in Prairieville, LA
