  1. I have a tool affliction also, and have 2 of these. Works well, and with this I don't have to worry so much about my shells fitting all of the shotguns we use and extracting properly.

Boggus Deal, I have a broken shell holder I could send you for you to take measurements from, and would willingly pay for a new one if you decide to make some.

  2. What it probably really is, is that the bore of the rifle where the bolt rides has worn enough so the the bolt is higher in the back and will no longer push the hammer back far enough to get it to totally engage the trigger. Shortening the trigger has always fixed this for me. Best you use a sear jig, though, or you will have a too light or too heavy trigger pull.

Hammers on Uberti's are pretty hard, and rarely wear out. And if the trigger had worn it would just engage earlier and not have the " hammer won't cock" problem. Unless the trigger face has worn enough that it just won't keep engagement with the hammer, but I haven't found this to be true most of the time.

  3. Funny how we didn't "need" Big Lube bullets to get the job done, and yet 4 different people came up with the same idea independently, and they became a very sought after product. Snakebite 38, PRS 45, 44 MAV and the J/P 45, although truth be told that was altered by DD from the original design.

I don't "need" 4 different sets of guns to shoot SASS. I don't "need" who knows how many different outfits to shoot in. I don't "need" 8 different motorcycles. But it works for me, and this is America, where I have the right to do so, as long as it doesn't interfere with others rights. So, don't tell me what "we" don't need. Just come up with a better product and/or idea and I'm sure you will dominate the market.  If not, then maybe there is a "need" for Big Lubes, and I hope Dallas manages to fill this need.  I know I will continue to cast them for myself and my daughter, as I have no "need" to look elsewhere for something that works well for us.

  4. Since LEE made all of the original Big Lube bullets, including the PRS, MAV Dutchman, Snakebite, EPP-UG, 44Slim and 45Slim, DD-ROA, J/P 45 and pretty much everything DD ever sold, they could possibly re-cut them. But it will probably take a batch order to make it worth it.

  5. FWIW, Dick Dastardly never sold Big Lube bullets, only moulds. 12 or so years ago there were 4 bullet makers, but all are now out of the business. Here's hoping Dallas can work out the kinks and supply all the BP shooters out there, as he is needed.

  6. There are SAAMI specs for 38-55, but unfortunately every manufacturer doesn't follow them. Some make barrels for .377 bullets and some for ..379. Some cut chambers for .377 bullets but barrels for .379, making accuracy a bit of a problem. I reamed out my Buffalo Classic and now it shoots great. Slug your bore and chamber cast your chamber to know what you really have and it helps.

  7. You cannot make 30-30 into 38-55 by just using a die, you have to fire form it as dies don't make anything bigger. It usually works fine as it is just a bit shorter then the longer 38-55 brass, do it all the time in my re-barrelled Winchester 94 and my 38-55 Buffalo Classics.
