  1. There are a few in Indiana after a couple incidents of folks not keeping control of the follower resulting in magazine explosions; some other clubs just jumped on the ban wagon. I talked one club out of their ban; the match director didn't understand the Henry and how possibly high primers and a too round bullet involved to set them off in the tube. I only shoot at one club with a ban in place; I know they were a cat's whisker from loosing their insurance.
  2. I would only use one of these sticks if it would allow me to shoot my Henry at a club that has a Henry ban. What's the point to shooting an 1860 Henry without the doing the Henry hop? I've been known to do the hop with a 66 or 73 and not realize that I did it.
  3. It's not the cheap route; I have enough cylinders out fitted with the Slix nipples for my 1851 Pietta's that I load the night before to shoot at least 6 stages.
  4. The only way to atone for this is to load up 250 grain Pale Rider BP loads for your next match Probably wouldn't work well in a .45 rifle; I think we can find someone who can lend you a .44-40 rifle
  5. Loading the camper now; be rolling that way some time afternoon
  6. SASS Alias: Coal Car Kid SASS #: 15921 Life Member Where you are from: Valpo, Indiana How long you’ve been Cowboy Action Shooting: Over 20 years
  7. Congratulations on 30 years; I started shooting this in June of 97, it's been a blast.
  8. I picked up a pair of steel frames for $199 each in December.
  9. In March; I put on and shoot a tactical shotgun shotgun match, I have a class for any type shotgun including shooting your cowboy shotgun - cowboy style (only loading 2). I have shot some IDPA; but it's been a while, I'll try and do some this year. I really like to shoot our club's military rifle shoot with my 1917 Enfield and Garand; we put on a service pistol side match also, out comes the Luger and the S&W 1917. I try to shoot trap any chance I get; with one of my cowboy shotguns, a little sporting clays from time to time. I will be looking to get into some BP shooting this year.
  10. I use HS-6 & have had great luck with it using Berrys 115 gr bullets.
