  1. I have a 44 that will not feed consistently. Occasionally when the lifter brings up the cartridge it

jams the bullet against the top of the back of the barrel above the chamber. I've had a good cowboy

gunsmith work on it but it still does not function properly. Anyone else have this problem ? Tried

different bullets lengths and longer seems to work better but not consistently. Thinking of trying some truncated cone bullets if I can find some in 44 cal. Am now using 200gr RNFP. Also tried 44 specials and they don't work either. I am really frustrated with this rifle.

Anyone have a few truncated cone bullets I could load up dummies to see if they will work ?

I can give you my experience. I have an 1894 44SS that has been set up with the angle feed, and it would feed great using 44 special with 200 RNFP, but would occasionally hang when I would use 44 mag brass with the same bullet. Well, a good pard (Doc Fill Em) helped me adjust the tension on my extractor, and that fixed the issue. Now I can tell you she still seems to prefer the length of the 44 special brass, but she will feed both, I just never get a hang up, even with shooter error. The mag brass once in a great while might hang when I don't run the lever as clean as I should. just my experience with a similar rifle.

  2. I am selling my Mosin Nagant with all accessories. Comes with oil can, bayonet, ammo pouches and strap. I am also including 40 rounds of good, reloadable brass, boxer primed Seiller and Belot ammo I bought from Cabelas. Gun is in the typical condition of the day, several scratches, was used in combat. It is the 91/30, not the carbine. I have shot it a few times and it shoots great. I would like $225 OBO.

i actually have a second one and if you buy both for $450 i'll throw in a set of Lee 7.62x54r dies.

i prefer FTF in Arkansas (i would drive a little to meet a pard), but if you wanna ship em, if you pay for shipping I'll try to figure that out thru an ffl here, havent shipped firearms much. gonna try to post pics.

  3. for Christmas my dear wife bought me a Pietta 1851 in 44 cal and the Taylors conversion cylinder. Well i took it apart and cleaned it really well and took it to the range today and had a great time. Well as I shot it I noticed the screw holding the rammer on would back out. When I try to tighten it, it just free spins. It does not look stripped. I'm not sure why I did not notice this when cleaning? Do you think i can just put it in and blue lock tite it and itbe ok? Do i need to contact emf where my wife bought it? Can I get a better fitting screw somehow?

  4. I do love Mikes videos. They helped nudge me down the Black Powder path for CAS for sure lol. And sold an 1851 for Pietta this Christmas in 44 caliber, with a conversion cylinder! 😀

  5. Well, I shoot Black Powder and I shoot duelist, typically shoot Frontier Cartridge duelist, but lately have been lazy and been shooting that demon FAD smokey-less powder....have tried a couple different pairs of revolvers and I love the Ruger Vaqueros in Bisely grips. YMMV

  6. The 1860 army snubnose is a full size revolver with a short 3" barrel.

Slix nipples for pietta fit it perfectly.

I use some anti-seize on mine, but have used bore butter, RIG, and other greases in the past.

So, how do most people load these things at a match? Take the barrel off and tower of power,or that silly rod thing they come with, or what? Lol

  7. I have about ten of them, some factory made & some cut-n-crowned.

All my serious match guns have cap guards by Rowdy Yates or cap rakes by Coffinmaker

Most have plow-handle grips, but some have Thunderer or Birdshead grips

    I love 'em all.

They're my favorites for Cap-Gun Gunfighter!
