We run a Dale Evans and Roy Rogers category for those who have diffaculties with the long guns. Mostly what we see is the shotgun is hard on folks. We also offer this at our State Shoot. We have a couple of Cowboys who rely on assistance to walk. On the stages that require movement, they shoot them in the fashion that workss for them and is safe. These Iron Cowboys have stated they dont want a seperate class, they are fine competing in their respective category.

The Uberti plant is on the grounds of the Beretta factory. When I visited the plant I asked if the made the Beretta cowboy guns. The reply was yes they do. They build them to the specs that are requested. The original post was diffecult to stay focused on, but that might have been ADD (Another Damn Distraction)kicking in. With that said I have no other horse in this pissing contest.

Good artical. Brings to mind when we did a Cops Vs Cowboys match. The Cops used their equipment, we used ours. The Cowboys out shot every Cops, except the ones who had been doing CAS. We all had a good time, it was an eye opener for some of the LEO's to see a guy run a SA and switch guns faster than they could shoot the course with a mag change.

I hunted with fellar last October who owns such a company. Only his business is punching and stamping of parts. In talking with him he stated that his company, which was started by his father has made stanped and punched parts for alot of gun manufactures. Mostly revolver hands,bolts and safety parts or rifles thas well as other parts. He stated that this possible today due to the precission of stamps, dies and the tools. Bob's claim was that he could run tolerances or .001 or less in some cases. Pretty dang impressive for high speed manufacturing.

Many bad things have happened that way. Well things that started out as well intentioned.

Thanks guys. I put a .020 shim in place and problem cured. Looks like now I have to get a new lifter and get it to work. Unless anybody has a better way to add material to the pad on the lifter. Welding does not seen like a good way to go.

Shooter runs to rifle grabs rifle levers a round the TO yells STOP! Shooter obeys and stops. Shooter did not know why the call was made, just followed directions. The TO realized th shooter didnt stage his pistols on the table. So Shooter burns the round under the hammer, hands off rifle, proceeds to the unloading table at the direction of the TO for a re-shoot. I see it as it should have been let go and the shooter given a P. But the shooter followed the directions and stoped. What now?

Shot a stage once that had the rifle last. We had to shoot through a window prop. The timmer did not pick up my rifle shots due to prop interfering. The TO decided that 20 seconds was a good time to add to my time. That was plain case of cheating and a piss poor attitude on his part. Me I just took his $#!* and never shot on a posse with him again. Also didnt go back to that range. Assuming that some one cheats because they run a timmer for their wife or son? Wow! That is messed up.

Yes I did notice that and smoothed it out,then ran a few rounds through it and got the same results jammed up and carrier dinged. Is the relation of the carrier and the bolt a sign of the carrier rising to slow?

OK Pards I have a 73 question, or two. I did search the wire and did not find a answer so here goes. First of all, the ejection process of a 73. Is the carrier striking the bottom of the fired round a part of that or is there a timing issue. Secondly if this is a timing issue is this fixed by removing material off the pad on the lifter, effectivly slowing the carrier rise down a little more. Right now the rifle jams up when you run it slow or fast. The jam is the spent case being caught by the carrier and the extrator will not relaes the round. This happens with the aluminum carrier in place. The rifle ran fine for 10 rounds at full speed and then I had to double lever it to get it to eject. Brass carrier in place it jams up when run slow. The rifle is short stroked. 73 Jam

Thinking of switching to a single trigger coach gun. I have been using the same Stoeger coach gun for the last 10 years. I like the mechanical trigger set Vs the recoil type. Any of you pards using a single-trigger Stoeger coach gun? If so tell me what you think about it. The good the bad and the ugly.

Cover more shoots in general. Local as well as State level and above. Give the public a feel for the local clubs. My wife was on Shooting USA when they covered The Last Stand a few years ago. It made her day. Me all I got was my arm filmed while running the timmer. Guess I stayed out of the way good and proper.

Phhhffff another plastic small 9mm. Boring. I guess the anti 380 crowd is happy now that they have a 9mm.

Tullamore Dew got me a new rifle. A FN Scar 17s also known as a Scar heavy. Also got a new pair of chaps.

Me and Tullamore saw the movie and liked it. We both thought Jeff Bridges did a excellent job making Rooster Cogburn's character come to life as he was written. I always thought that Kim Darby was annoying it the 1969 version. All in all a good movie.

Merry Christmas to all. We still have snow on the ground, rounds are iced up good tonight. I spoke with Spunky Hollow Slim and he said this was the first white Christmas he has seen in Alabama. I have been here 27 years and don't recall one.

I have one. Crimps good, needs a little tweaking every once in a while. The resizing crimp for the brass part of the shell does not stay adjusted on mine. The tapper crimp is very nice. You do not have a way to shut off powder or shot individually, you have to tilt the assembly back to stop the powder and shot flow. Mine runs Winchester hulls fine, but Remington's hang up. Not a bad machine over all. Faster than a Hornady, but not as smooth.

I started with a 92, then a Marlin, now a 73. I have two one in 357/38 one in 38-40. Given that I bought two rifles before the 73, it would have been cheaper to buy a 73. Want a lighter rifle look at a carbine 73.

Some how Pooh, peanut butter and a cookie just dont sound right.

I think my Chow Chow pups got the Easter Wabbit. They like peanut butter. But I think they like Wabbit more.
