TLS was an outstanding shooting! Some of the most fun stages I have ever shot. Thanks the TLS committee for all of thier hard work and commitment. You guys have set the bar very high for other shoots. It is sad that it was the last of The Last Stand shoots but it went out in style. The Wild Bunch part of the match was also excellent. The 31 or so reactive targets was a really cool stage. Again great stages, great folks, great shoot!

Been running a Kirkpatrick wrap on two different 73's for about 5 years with no problems. Also the wife's Marlin has had one it just about as long. These wraps are made out of a big ole thick piece of Buffalo hide. http://www.kirkpatrickleather.com/accessories/buffalo-lever-wraps-66

What equipment would you recommend for someone starting in CAS and why? revolvers? Ruger Vaqueros. They almost never break. lever rifle? Uberti 73. It is the rifle for CAS. Alot of good gunsmiths to choose from if you decide to tune it. caliber? 38 special. Cheap to shoot. shotgun? Browning or SKB SXS. Buy the right off the bat and save some money. holster rig? Kirkpatrick Long Hunter Rig. Good quality leather. gun cart? The ruged gear cart. I dont believe in buying starter guns / cheaper guns, you end up replacing them something else. So why waste the money.

Magpul Pmags. I have run a few thousand rounds through mine and have not had any problems. Additionally if you drop a mag and step on it, you don't have to worry about bent fed lips. The cap on the top pushes the round down and you don't beny feed lips. Great for long term storage. I gave away all of the metal ones I had.

I did not watch the whole video on the Henry. I was expecting some shooting and I believe it was about 10 minutes into the video. The UTUBE crowd wants a quick movie, not a history lesson. They want action. Think of video A.D.D. With the length and lack of action I believe you will have a smaller viewing audience. What I did watch was well put together. Just my 2 cents.

Check out the SBR version. Very cool. If you can own a class 3 weapon and local law permits the SBR ( Short Barrled Rifle) do it! The only thing better than the SBR is the Full Auto. As stated they are all made by one company now. I was in line for a SBR 1927 but a Kriss Super V SBR happened in.

As stated there are free Internet meeting sites as well as free Internet vidieo meeting software. Voting can be conducted through survey monkey. I use it for our club to vote on the summit agenda. I would sugjest the TG business be conducted over the Internet via Sass wire. We already have the TG room. As far as a TG not having Internet, well there Internet cafe's all over the place. These days you don't even need a PC, just a smart phone or device like an IPad, which is what I use for web surfing these days. The big expensive Dell XPS gets used for important tasks like gaming, movie editing and as a storage device.

I have heard that a simple walking stick will suffice for bear protection. The walking stick is used in conjunction with buddy system. Knee cap or trip your buddy as you calmly walk away. Bear gun that I have is a Ruger Alaskan in 454 Casull. Good thing about a Ruger is that we all know how tough they are, you can club your buddy with it when the gun is out of ammo and expect there to be no damage to the gun.

Key words hunting

I thought that you could change out just the hammer on a Ruger. Not that it would be legal for SASS.

I had a pair of New Model Ruger Vaqueros at a well known gunsmith having them converted from 357 to 38-40. I asked to him slick them up also. His response was that they are already pretty slick. This was the second time I had a experience similar to this. Best to have our competition guns worked on by some one who knows what we need in a tuned gun.

Break from our regular post. With most combat shotguns the operator has gloves on. Think about it. Folding stock is bogus makes for a wobbly shot. I have seen some collapse under fire or when being run hard. Rest of the stuff is useful. The private owners want the same stuff. Back to the regularly scheduled post?

I believe the mini match is to be 3 stages. That is what was said at the meeting. Well it looks like we have a perfect forecast for this weekend. Cept for the forecasted foul smelling smoke caused by the smoke of them Soot Lords.

The steell is set. The range is cleaned up. The shoot through was today. It went off with out a hitch. Stages look to be straight forward with no P traps, gunfighter friendly except for one which was a split pistol stage. The stages look be good fast stages with a mix of movement in them. Stage 10 is gonna be a lot of fun. We did have a couple of oops today. One involving Graver Bill. You gotta ask him about it.

As stated above something wrong inside the gun. Recommendations for hunting. I have and use: Ruger SBH Hunter in 45 colt, Ruger is not currently making this model, but they are out there. Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 Casull. I shot 45 colt out it, but mostly 454 Casull S&W 460 VXR The S&W is the most accurate and versital as it shoots 45 Colt, 454 Casull and 460 S&W. I also have a 41 mag in a Blackhawk. The recoil is nasty.
