  1. The firing pin safety is to hopefully stop a slam fire out of battery event. I am sure you have seen someone try slamming their lever closed when the round does not go all the way in. Well when you do that the firing pin can hit the primer and set the round off out of battery. With the Miroku firing pin safety the firing pin will not go forward without the trigger being pulled. It is a wonderful thing but some don't like it because it may break. And that is the rest of the story!
  2. Dang! That is your problem. That area is suppose to be smooth.
  3. If the ammo works in other SAA pistols it is not the ammo, it is the gun that has a problem.
  4. Not saying this is your problem just want to point out at one time I had a USFA start locking up and everyone said it was primers backing out. The thing was the same ammo worked in all kinds of other SAA pistols with no issue. Chased the primer backing out for months trying to figure out what was going on because everyone I asked said that was what was going on. Well, it was not primers backing out. In fact primers always back out and then are reseated by recoil. What it turned out to be was the recoil plate had recessed just enough for the primer to catch on it. I was new to the sport at the time and everyone I asked never once said look to see what the primer is catching on for it to drag. Since then I always look to see what it is dragging on first because that is usually what is going on. Hope this helps!
  5. Some shooters pin this spring so you don't have to press the button as seen in this picture.
  6. If the hammer is down that is perfectly normal. Are you saying that with the hammer cocked it does it?
  7. I use 200 for both Wild Bunch and Cowboy Action. Works great!
  8. I have two stainless models and have never had a problem with the safeties other than when new the safeties were stiff as hell. Is this a new gun and has it always done this or did this happen after disassembly?
