Those type instructions aren’t fair to gunfighters since they don’t have a ‘first’ and ‘second’ pistol.
Gunfighters don’t get special instructions or dispensation. They have to shoot scenario same as everyone else.
As a 2 handed shooter I’d shoot it
1st pistol 3 4 5 5 5
2bs pistol 1 2 3 3 3
a M cannot cause a P.
I’ve never seen instructions that require hit.

Don’t let Moose’s low post count worry you. He is a pard of mine, good guy. His word is good.

Last week at Comancheria Days we were talking about Aliases. Sweat Pea said her grandmother always called her that so that’s where she got it from. I mentioned I had Thoght it was from the Tommy Roe song. She said no, but if we had “walk up music” like baseball that would be her song.
mine would obviously be the theme song from Bonanza. What’s yours?

I’m ok without a printed copy. I’ve tried to read thru them before match, ysuslmy just get more confused. Probably 90% if the time I lose them before match is over. But I know a lot of folks use and enjoy them.

It must confirm to your body shape. No angling shells out.
A friend had such a belt, it definitely tipped shells out and was not legal. It was pointed out to the shooter, after reading rules and some discussion with RO instructors shooter agreed that it was not sass legal and stopped wearing it.

Recently acquired a Ubert-Win 1885 HiWall in 40-65. Previous owner bought it as 45-70, had it re-barreled.
The barrel is in excellent condition, no sights. Asking $250 plus the ride. First “I’ll take it” gets it. Would also consider most anything in trade.
if you need more pics/info please let me know.
as with anything I sell on here, if you are not 100% completely satisfied I will gladly refund your money, less shipping.

I have same rifle. No issues with cut down 45-70 cases. I use a mini chop saw I got at harbor freight. Pretty simple.
fun rifle to shoot. I shoot a 305 grn Bear Creek bullet with 12.0 Unique orca full case of APP. -

Starline makes 40-65. But if your not fussy about OLA they are .015 short of the OAL.
They are out and no back orders

Still looking!

Looks like I’ll be acquiring a 40-65 HiWall. I’m going to need dies & brass. (I know I can form brass out of 45-70 but would prefer not to)
whatchu got?

That Ithaca is a fine old shotgun. I inherited a Nitro Special that I passed into my son. Very similar but steel barrels (not Damascus)
the huge lug between the barrels is great for lockup, but not easy to quickly reload.

Aboard us considering a Yildiz sxs. Asked me if I knew anything about them (I don’t) but figured I check with y’all, see if anyone had tried one
he currently has a Stoeger and a sharptail that he does not like. I’ve suggested SKB, he’s not squire ready to drop the coin for one.
opinions?

A friend had one. A part broke (sear as I recall) no replacement parts available. Fortunately the smith he bought it from was able to replace it, and is hoping to be able to get one eventually.
there are basically no aftermarket parts available for them. (Anecdotally, as I don’t have one but that’s what I’ve heard)

I have 3 38-55s. A HiWall , a Uberti-Win 94 and a Marlin.
i shoot long brass in hiwall. 10.0 Unique with a 260 grn bullet. Absolute tack driver.
short brass in lever guns. The Marlin 336 has a very tight bore. Bullets that won’t chamber in Marlin go fine in Win 94. I had a custom chamber checker made.
In lever guns I shoot 9.6 grns unique with a 245-255 cast bullet.
38-55 is a great caliber. Just takes tuning to your gun.

I use .381 in my Uberti 1885.......Shoots fantastic......9g Unique with 3/4 x 3/4" toilet paper wad stuffed down to hold powder against primer...under any 250g bullet. Recoil like a 22 Magnum and shoot lights out to 300 yds! I and others using my loads have won many competitions with this load in various 38-55 rifles. Pull trigger, eat a ham sandwich and wait for the "ding!"
I use a similar load. 10.0 Unique. No toilet paper tho. I’ve never found Unique to be position sensitive.

And once again folks are walking all over someone’s ad. Moderator, can you remove the negative comments?
Slicks a big boy. I’m sure this isn’t bothering him.

45-70 is sufficient. 45-90 or 110 is “cooler” but brass hard to find.
I have a Shiloh Sharps. I love it. There are some who think a center hammer model like the 1885 or rolling block is inherently more accurate than a side hammer Sharps. Either will serve you well.
very important to not scrimp on sights. MVA or Kelley would be my preference. Lee Shaver are also very good.- 1

Hey Capt, get ready to get a bunch of compliments on your guns!
I asked the guy who made mine “are they durable?” He replied, you ever see what sheep do with them?!!
enjoy the grips.- 1

Yep, I was thinking the same thing.
I actually earned one of these last summer. It was the only TRI I've earned since joining SASS back in 2004.
..........Widder
Well. Trifecta nay be more precise, but those 3 ruled my day yesterday! (At least on the scoresheet)
