  1. You cowpokes are making me feel like a winner this year! From Radium Springs NM to delivered on Wednesday without a hiccup!
  2. Come help celebrate The 25th anniversary of the Gila Rangers this Memorial Day weekend at our annual Geronimo Trail match in the high country timber at Fowler City near Mimbres NM. There’s plenty of free camping, food and shooting for everyone. The gun giveaways for side matches are an added bonus as well as free WB mini match on Friday this year. Check out the newly updated website for further details and feel to contact myself or other of the club officers. Hope to see you there!
  3. @Too Tall Bob any chance of you having applications with you for BT Sunday? I’ll bring my check book
  4. I’ve had some cracking with dedicated C45S cases more so than DIY cases! Seeing that Garrison Joe, Texas Jack Black and Eyesa Horg have experienced similar results, guess its not only my stuff!
  5. @Fallon Kid if you’re a DIY type person, it’s a relatively straight forward process to turn Colt cases into Cowboy Specials. I’ve turned lots of questionable tattered Colt cases into Cowboy Specials with excellent results. Let us know how your load testing goes!
  6. Cheddites have been my go to for cowboy and regular trap and bird shooting for awhile with zero issues in SxS, pumps and auto loader scatterguns. They sure seem to perform like a quality product from what I’ve experienced. Based on my experience I have passed on other brands of 209 recently.
  7. +1 to Tex Jones. Another name to throw out for a replacement bolt ( large caliber) is Sarco. Don’t ask me why, but they have complete new style kits in stock. Yes, they will replace old style bolts. The newer style retainer is definitely more robust, which can’t be all bad. My 66 runs just fine with the new style. Now I’ve got to send off the broken / bent tab bolts for repair!
  8. Just my personal observation using them is that they are reliable after sending a couple thousand rounds down range so far. They are a NATO approved supplier, so they seem to be top quality IMO. I haven’t experienced what to my eye seems to be the lacquer? being only partially applied.
  9. Appreciate the advice. This is just a tab that’s worn dang near completely off. The timing is spot on considering it’s run trouble free for about a decade of multiple monthlies, EOTs, practices, and a bushel of annuals across several states! Best guess is something in excess of 20000+ rounds! Yes it’s definitely getting some needed TLC, considering the round count!
  10. I’m looking for suggestions from cowpersons that have had their bolt tabs repaired or replaced. I thought there was a pinned post on the topic but I haven’t had any success finding it. Thanks for your input in advance… CC 89893
  11. I gonna be using them in our monthly match today. They’ve always been GTG for me!
  12. ^^^^ this! About 3 -4 years ago an amigo picked one of these up at Winter Range and drug it back home here . It was just too good a deal for him to pass up as it even came with a box of “ factory” ammo ! Not only was it a clunker, but the DA trigger pull was incredibly heavy. After a fair amount of his insistence I foolishly took up his little pocket pistol project and lightened up the pull to something reasonable, (like under 20 lbs). Of course I then became his side match pistol tester. I was running about the 4th cylinder through it at a reasonable speed when the forcing cone disintegrated and the barrel split forward from the cone about an inch. With all the little jagged pieces of old cheap IJ. metal flying around I ended up looking like someone had taken a hole punch to my face when it let go! They aren’t worth the work and worry IMO!
  13. Flat toe….. ie “square toe” is an extremely old boot design and definitely legal
  14. Bang & Clang sells reloads and is a reliable SASS supporter https://bangandclangllc.com/
