I tested the latest load for my .38S&W today. With the 148gn hollow base bullet, I found 1.6gn of HP38 is a great load. Very little recoil. Even hit a coffee can at 25 yds.

Jake, there's a fly shop on Orangethorpe just east of Beach. They can tell you something about your rod. My old bamboo rod wasn't worth anything of value, so I can still use it.
