Declare something to be really hard
But designing, building, and flying a helicopter in the Martian atmosphere actually was really hard.

True enough. When I'm backpacking and set up camp, I take off the boots but sometimes leave the socks on....
I’m with you, Red. Socks and Tevas are my campfire footwear at day’s end.

Too funny!

What set of circumstances would warrant an Army soldier or officer wearing a patch on their right shoulder (aka "combat patch"), while wearing an Expert Infantry Badge (EIB) over the pocket? Why wouldn't the badge be a Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB)?
I know the EIB is a skill badge whereas the CIB designates engagement with the enemy, and it is possible to be awarded by CIB without having taken and passed the tests to earn the EIB.
But I'm thinking the "combat patch" would have criteria similar to the CIB, or there must be a subtle difference that I'm not fully grasping.
Any insight is much appreciated.

I shot a full auto FAL once. ONCE!
It was an absolute s3!t kicker, even worse than the full-auto M-14.

Not to hijack the thread, but while everyone is debating recoil in the Bulldog, consider having it magnaported. I did an alloy J-frame and it made a world of difference.

Maybe I’m the only one, but I think it’s pretty cool from both a technical and visual perspective.
Not practical in any way, shape, or form.
But a damn cool piece of artistic machinery.

Is what I think I'm seeing -- what I'm seeing?
Is the starboard gunwale actually submerged?
DAY-umm!
Looks like it to me.

One time my wife left her cell phone in a rental car in Seattle. I contacted the company and they had it shipped to us. Because the phone was fully charged and we had its locator connected to my phone, we were able to physically see where it was every step of the way. The route to my house was crazy, but I assume UPS and FedEx know what they are doing.

I download for my Bond with a little shot of Goex, fill the remaining case with cornmeal, and swage .454 round ball into a heavy crimp. Decent smoke and not much recoil. Fun for sure!
A 410 or 45 Long Colt is flat out painful.

Strange as it is, Chelsea Clinton denounced the "former media-executive idiot's" statement about Baron being fair game. Kind of bazaar, a Clinton sticking up for a Trump.
An older child of a President sticking up for a younger one. They definitely have common ground. And good for her doing so.- 4

While I have never shot one, it seems like a Snake Charmer would be fun.
I always thought they were cute and would be fun.
Pointless, but fun nonetheless.

It was an impressive feat of engineering and construction to build it the first time. I can’t imagine removal, disassembly, moving, and rebuilding.

Graeter’s Ice Cream in Cincinnati has some of the best donuts in the world. Their dunking stick is about the best piece of sugar coated fried dough ever created.

Does anyone have experience with photo enhancing? This is the technology which can take an old photo that's slightly blurry and bring out more details?
I have an old picture of my dad parachuting out of an SA-16. I'm trying to reach the tail number but the only thing I can see is a gray blog where the number should be. I'd love to get a high enough resolution to bring out the number.
I appreciate any guidance or insight y'all might be able to offer.

Unlike in the movies, they don't just go "poop" when fired.
I was shocked at how loud they were when going through mortar quals. I was expecting “poop” like in the movies.
The sergeant explained that the “poop” sound came from the microphone’s inability to capture loud noises. “Clamping” is the technical term.

The Southeast seems to be stealing a lot of car manufacturing and firearms manufacturing from the big union states.
Georgia as a state is very firearms and business friendly. Just stay out of Atlanta and you will be fine. That bunch in Atlanta has been out of control for years, but the rest of the state watches them pretty carefully.
Tennessee has a number of car factories and li’l ol’ Maryville just saw S&W open their new headquarters and factory in 2023.

At a post-meeting drinking session a few weeks ago a colleague couldn’t apologize enough for his response when an African-American in the group asked what he was drinking. It was a “Negroni”. https://www.liquor.com/recipes/negroni/
Even the Black person thought he was being stupid and embarrassing himself, then she ordered one of the drinks.
