    Most definitely rifle length cartridges.

Maybe he was carrying a 94 and IMDb guns got it wrong. Certainly would not be the first time.

Those not only look too long to be for a '94, but the bullets aren't round nose like one would use in a tube magazine.

While it certainly feels that way far too often, I wonder if the 24/7 news cycle and social media magnifies the negativity that is actually out there.

I'm absolutely certain that it does. In years past, we got news pretty much in three or four, 1/2 hour segments. There was the 6:00 o'clock evening news from the network, which covered anything of interest to the whole country. A 6:30 local report, a 7:00 o'clock network report which was more or less a replay of the 6:00 o'clock, and finally a 11:00 o'clock nightly report which combined the national headlines with the local.

Now, with the 24/7 news, they have to try to report on something, whether it's of any import or not. It's kind of like listening to the morning traffic report. With everything they have to say, you'd think that it was even money at best whether you could make it to work or not. A very few events get noticed BECAUSE they're not normal. The Lame Stream Media has to do the same on a much larger scale to try to be relevant to our lives. And get advertising revenue. They have to do THAT so that they can try to get their agenda, (yes, I mean political agenda) to as many sheeple as they can, again to try to be relevant.

And we can't forget the old adage, "The squeaky wheel gets the grease". Tie that in with social media and so many of those types promoting their "content" for "likes" and such that seem to get the attention they crave by screaming about something, it's not that hard to see why we see more people acting this way. Throw in the way modern "medicine" is continuously coming up with new "conditions" to explain bad behaviour, and it's a wonder we don't see more of this than we do.

The best thing we can do to counter all of this is treat people with respect, the way we were raised to, until they prove that they don't deserve it, and occasionally call them out on their crap so that onlookers might see them in their ignorance, and perhaps learn from it. And because doing so can be incredibly self satisfying.

         ........ and that's important because .........???

    Because HERE it's a PICKUP TRUCK!:D

Note that a pickup truck has a seperate cab and bed :

The ute, however does not. The ute looks like Sawzall Willie turned loose on a small car and chopped off the back of the cabin and just replaced the window.

There's nothing wrong with them, they're just NOT a pickup truck.

This country is headed in the wrong direction for sure. Not sure there is any hope left for a lot of them.

I tend to disagree. Most people I run into are fairly pleasant to deal with. Of course there are always exceptions. Just this morning at the gym, my friend and I were doing our usual jaw jacking when a miserable old woman a couple of machines yapped off at us because we were being "too loud". My friend told her to mind her own business and that it had nothing to do with her and I told her that we were having an A and B conversation so she could just C herself out of it. I later observed to my friend that she was probably all het up because she didn't HAVE anybody to talk to.

At the same time, we had been having a good day with virtually everybody else in the place. That seems to be the norm.

I think that for the most part, the country is headed in the right direction. The last election demonstrates that. Good sense seems to be coming back into style, while Political Correctness is on the way out for most people. There will always be those who can't stand to see others happy and live for nothing more than to be annoyed about SOMETHING.

The adults are back in charge, and the next few years should be better than the last.

  5. My knees are getting to where they hurt if I wear my boots for very long. My PT shoes not so much, I think because they don't have much of a heel on them. Before I have the heels cut off my boots, I was thinking about some moccasins, but about the only things I can find are not much more than slippers, the knee high lace up types, or womens.

Anybody got any ideas where a man might find something in between?
