  1. Not exactly. They want your opinion, but they want your opinion the be THEIR opinion. Otherwise you're a fascist, racist, Nazi, bigot, homophobe, or whatever the insult of the week is.
  2. It should be of little comfort that they WILL, in most places these days, be able to VOTE.
  3. The kid bought it, so, yeah.
  4. That looks like it was a security camera, On the other hand, Rule 39: There's no such thing as coincidence.
  5. Back in the '80s, I was living off base with some friends. The Christopher Reeve movie "Somewhere in Time" was on TV. That's the one where he sends himself back in time to meet a girl. There was a scene where was getting beaten up by a gang of thugs. My friends' 6 year old son asked, "Why doesn't he just turn into Superman?" My friends looked at each other as though to say, "How do we explain this to him?" I chimed in with, "He was exposed to Kryptonite and lost his powers."
  6. Or was PLANNING to have something to hide.
  7. I understand that. The guys that used to be on Motor Trend TV all got canned a year or so back, and they've all pretty much gone to youtube for their income. These people HAD regular jobs that they hated or did poorly, either got caught making content while at work, (as opposed to doing the work they were being paid to do), made disparaging content ABOUT their work, or otherwise did something that might reflect on their employer, (one guy was driving drunk in uniform), and got fired for it.
  8. If they're making good money doing that, then why be worried about being fired?
  9. Except that now people WANT to be watched for some reason. And then they complain that they have no privacy.
  10. I very rarely get asked, mainly because if I'm out of the house, I pretty much always have a gun on my hip. (About the only place I don't is at the gym, but I go shooting with those guys, so they know.) If I didn't, and was asked, I'd probably look at the questioning individual with a confused look on my mug and say somethin like, "Well, YEAH. Doesn't everybody?" The last time I was pulled over, the Cop asked if I had a gun, and I told him, "Of course." Why? Because I can.
  11. I just finished watching a youtube video of people who got fired because of recording themselves for tick tack videos at work, or complaining about work on tick tack. And most of them were complaining about getting fired. I just don't get the whole recording yourself and posting it online thing. Yes, I'm a borderline Luddite, but when I was working, I was WORKING! My employer wanted me to perform certain tasks, and that's what I was there to do.
  12. That may well be so. I heard a few years ago in a LGS that they were sending a LOT of Tauri back for work. To be fair, mine are all older guns. Like, from the '90s older guns. I've seen newer Taurus revolvers with a heavier looking barrel assembly. I think that when they did that redesign things might have gone to crap. In the below pictures, the first two show older model 85s. You can see the slim barrel profile. The bottom two are more recent examples. The barrel profile is chunkier, and even the frame looks to be a bit larger. The larger, chunkier guns seem to be more problematic, though that also might have been addressed by Taurus by now, though I think that they've been concentrating on their Autos the last few years.
  13. Glocks aren't bad guns, but I don't like them. If they work for you, that's fine. Maybe I'm just being old fashioned, but I don't recommend an automatic for a first gun. I take exception to that. I have several Taurus revolvers that are great. Six model 85s and a model 94. The only one I ever had a problem with I bought used. I contacted Taurus, sent it to them UNDER WARRANTY, and they made it right, all at no charge to me.
  14. I think that I'd tell them that the gun they want is junk, and I'll not get that one. I'm not getting something that they can't depend on. Pick something else. I'd take them to a Range where they could rent something. I'd also let them try any of my guns.
  15. "Random strange thoughts this morning." THIS MORNING?!?! I wouldn't reload, because as you said, the Cops would want the evidence "as is" But I would reholster.
  16. My friend has one, that at 15 years old has reached its "replacement" date.
  17. Even if it would work, a shotgun barrel being a smoothbore, your accuracy would be problematic at best.
  18. Not like on TV. Pistol in right hand at the low ready, light in left hand holding it at arm's length.
  19. I Had her centerfold from "Playboy" in my room as a kid.
  20. I suppose that he could do something like this Belly Dancer does..
  21. From what I've heard he's a Puerto Rican rapper who hates America.
  22. Pistol in right hand, light in left hand. Sabre sheathed just to make it easier to navigate the lodge.
  23. To those who would do harm, Gun Free Zones are simply a target rich environment.
  24. I believe that you said he was in your Squad. I'd about bet that the only reason that you weren't in the Last Supper painting is that you'd gotten up to refill the Bug Juice pitcher.
