There are a few youtube channels that show what mechanics have to deal with sometimes. They've shown this sort of thing frequently. Once in a while they'll open the airbox and a whole family of MICE will run out. Other things they show are absolutely frightening, such as brakes being held on with zip ties, or chassis' broken in two that people still drive. "Just Rolled In" is one of the best.

I'm missing something. What's the big deal about 10mm sockets?

They disappear. The end up somewhere between where they fell off the socket wrench and the ground. They almost never hit the ground when dropped over an engine bay.

Most who have done enough auto repair have more than a handful of socket sets, none of which have 10mm sockets. Well, the most recent set has one but not the older sets.

Every (rarely) now and then, one of us finds a 10mm socket wedged into some crevice or frame cavity, but this will only lead to the loss of the newest shiniest 10mm socket. It might even be a law of physics, research is not yet conclusive on this point.

But there are clues in Heisenberg's uncertainty theories and loss of 10mm sockets clearly violates the Bell Inequality.

That is the deal big with 10mm sockets. 1/2" sockets don't even come close from a historical standpoint.

It seems that MANY of the smaller nuts and bolts on cars these days require a 10mm socket. Most times you can't even start a project without one. They get used a LOT, so they get lost a lot. As a bonus, they are small enough to lodge in places that you can't get to. Amazon and ebay even have sets of the things on them.

Back in the 70s, when "nonconformist" was what the hippies were calling themselves, and blue jeans were becoming mainstream instead of just workwear, I heard blue jeans referred to as the uniform of the nonconformist army.

Not really any different than the insanely high pickups we see on the road.

I agree that a lot of guys go way too far. While I can't see lowering a truck, I don't get raising one so high that you need a ladder to get in is a bit much too. Unless they are involved in some SERIOUS mudding or rock crawling, any thing over about 33" tires doesn't serve any practical purpose.

And even if it comes down to being shot with a high-powered rifle,  I'd guess some ballistic protection is better than none.

But that's just my thought -- YMMV.

Some years back I acquired an older, class 2 vest. We took it out to the range to try it out. It stopped pistol rounds just fine. It did NOTHING to slow down .308 rounds though.

She's one of the smarter folks in Houston.

Obviously, since they keep voting for her.

Back in '97 when was visiting NASA and being shown the Mars Rover, she asked if it could take pictures of the flag that Neil Armstrong left.

OK, you don't hear about hordes of people fleeing to socialist countries they way hordes come to capitalist countries.

That people are able to point out by name the handful of fools that "flee" to communist/socialist countries shows how rare it is.

Don't forget "Hanoi" Jane Fonda. Okay, she didn't go, but she DID say that if you understood communism that you'd pray to be communist. Of course that was when she was making movies. When she made her fortune selling those workout tapes, she quit complaining about capitalism.
