Many many years ago, I was driving a tractor-trailer in California on the Interstate. CHIPS pulls behind me and hits the lights. I thought I was in trouble, when a motorcycle I hadn't known was even behind me pulls over.

Rossi makes theirs in .454 Casull. More that a .44 Magnum, but you can still shoot .45 Colt. As for me, Id probably go with a .357. Magnum power when needed, but .38 usable when it's not.

I've mentioned a couple times my friend of 50 years that died about 3 years ago. I went back to Ohio to "see him off" as it were. At the burial, there was just his family, his favorite Preacher, an old friend from the area, and me. They pretty much just placed him in the ground and that was it. They had a Memorial Service the next day at his Church. There were about 50 or so people there. His daughter had brought in a bunch of his stuff that meant a lot to him, and had created a slideshow, and there was "funeral Home" background music playing low. Now I'll admit, I was a mess. He'd been my friend, as I said, for 50 years. We'd talked on the phone just a couple days before he died. It was unexpected to say the least. The thing that tore me up the most was one of the pictures in the slideshow. It was one of him, me, and another friend, taken at my first wedding back in 1984. Like I said, it tore me up, but I'm glad they did it. I don't have a bunch of friends, about a dozen or so, mostly from the gym. I think that it would please me if they had a get together to remember and talk smack about me once I'm gone. And a Grumpy Lunch Bunch in my honor. (Yes' I "borrowed" the name from Uncle Forty). I don't want to be buried, that always seemed to be a waste of real estate to me. Cremation and kept in a jar until my wife joins me, then maybe scattered around the back yard.

Well, Cimarron has their version of the Lightning. It's on, (I think) a .22 frame, .38Spl, but it IS Single Action. Good little gun though.

You've got to remember that these laws were passed in the 1880s. MOST "Cowboy" towns had them. And Arizona didn't become a State until 1912. But we're good now. Constitutional Carry, no waiting period, Shall Issue CCW, and if you have a CCW, no NICS check. I carry a Stainless NMV in .45 Colt in the same holster I shot Cowboy with, and am frequently complimented on it.

Glad to hear that Bisbee has caught up with the rest of the State. I only traveled to Bisbee for work, and a guy I delivered to informed me that one couldn't carry there, but that was in the early 90s, and we never discussed it again. Carrying guns, even in Tombstone was illegal until 1994, and Bisbee was the same way. I think that they got away with it since the laws were passed before Arizona was a State. Sierra Vista is about 18 miles from Tombstone, and coincidentally Charleston Rd. ends at Hwy. 90 AT Walmart. Most of the locals shop there.

I don't know if it makes a difference to you or not, but last I heard, Bisbee does NOT allow the carrying of firearms. Tombstone, Benson, St. David, and Sierra Vista do. Tombstone's a nice place, but you're going to have to travel to Benson or Sierra Vista to get more in the way of supplies than you can get from a Circle K.

I can empathize with you guys. I'll be 72 in a couple months, and I feel it. But I still thank God that I'm still upright and taking in nourishment. Almost every day that I'm at the gym, (Mon, Wed, Fri) another Old Guy will say "Getting old sucks", or some variation of that, and I'll always say, "Yeah, but it beats the alternative".

I can usually drag myself up off the floor by grabbing the shelf. One time, I wanted something off a top shelf. A family consisting of father, mother, and two sons came by. I asked if I could borrow the older one for a minute. The father agreed, so I picked the kid up and he got me what I needed.

I'm guessing that this was on a different show. You say Dallas, Stump Water mentioned Dallas. That the show? Because as I said, I never watched it.

I don't remember him getting shot on Jeannie. I don't think that would have bode well for the shooter.

Master who? The only thing I know about ANY of those shows is that one season was a dream by somebody. I don't know what show, I don't know who, and I don't, and never did, care.

Why I never watched it, or any of them. Just because the characters wear Cowboy Hats isn't good enough.

We would like to think that holding parents responsible would encourage them to change the behaviour of their offspring. But how many of those kids LEARNED their behaviour from the parents? Too many I'd venture. There are, always have been, and always will be Bad People, and the reproduce like the rest of us. People like that teach their kids the way THEY think: Laws are for other people, take what you want, and only the strong survive.
