Have any of you heard the rumor that TW is gonna have a 'vendor spot' this year

at the TN State.   Apparently his new business is gonna have a vendor trailer set up

representing his new business "Pet Traders, Inc."

Although not a special 'Cowboy Match Special', he'll have his normal deals of trading

a Banty Rooster for a few young chicks.    He claims his 'Banty's can crow better than

any Banty out of Alabama or Georgia.     I'll have to see it to believe it.

BUT, to get approval to set up a vendor spot, he was required to have a couple special

deals. Sooooo, TW has decided to give 1/2 price deals on Chicken toenail clippers and

Possum Dentures, for those whose pet Possum has lost its teeth.

TW has his own brand of Chicken Nail Clippers (CNC).

His vending hours will vary, depending on when he's not hugging babies and kissing

    women.

I have not been compensated for this advertisement but rather do it as a free

    public service.     Your Welcome!

When I was brand new to gunfighter I asked @Widder, SASS #59054 and @Jackalope if they had any advice.  They both unflinchingly said the same thing.

"Don't double cock.  Don't listen to @Krazy Kajun"

Now there I was just minding my own business when BAM, my good name is besmirched.  I occasionally shoot GF when I want a change of pace....started out cocking both  and eventually dry fired my way into retraining what little bit of brain I have left into building muscle memory to alternate cock the pistols.  Just so ya know...I am undefeated and world's champion in my basement dry firing competitions. :P

I've got about 20 lbs of split brass and spent primers in an 8 lb powder jug.   I ran a magnet over the contents and pulled out any steel cases and the shotgun primers.  They have a lot of steel in them.  Is this stuff worth anything?  Does anybody sell this to a scrap metal dealer?  I'm trying to decide if it's worth fooling with or just throw in the trash.

You just need to go ahead and bring them to the recycler and get your money for them.  Then you can donate all that money to the Krazy Kajun Widows and Orphans and Wayward Wimmin's Society where you just KNOW that it will be put to a proper and "good" use. :D

Not only will I replace it, I will replace with a "can't miss" bullet.

It takes great skill and design to manufacture a bullet with the built in ding.

Krazy Kajun, if Pig Iron Lane is still making shotgun targets, I would also like his contact information. Cross Creek Cowboys might want to buy some targets from him.

Slim I just sent you a message with his phone number.

I can verify the 'Bigfoot Tick'.

TW actually owns a nice piece of forest area (thick woods) in Middle TN with a couple

small caves.   On one of his 'Speedlunker' expeditions, he found some signs of

what most folks call 'Bigfoot'.     Soooooo, guess who he calls and recruits to help

'ambush' this strange creature on his property?   Yep..... ME, the sucker.

So, this creature walks out of its cave around sundown and TW jumps on its back.

All he could grab was fur.....and a tick what looked like a 'Vampire'.   That tick

sunk its fangs into ole TW's hand and he took to squealing like a little pig.

The creature ran over me like I wasn't even there.   For the record, the creature

wasn't real big or monstrous...... but more like a cross between a bear and a dog

We had to pry that tick outta TW's back hand, which he still has fang scars today.

He put it in a mason jar with hopes to train it to do tricks........ like:  sit, stand, rollover,

suck, etc.     So far, its learned how to sit and suck.

I'll share another SECRET with the Wire pards, just don't tell TW I told you so.

You can talk about his family, wife, truck and job..... but he don't like anyone

to talk about and make fun of his pet chickens.

    ..........Widder

You just can't make up stories like this....this here is true life folklore that will last longer than scabs...and you don't even have to store these truths in a a jar.

    RANDY,

it won't just be the 97 speedsters, but Slater on his 87 is probably one of the best 87 shooters

you'll ever see.   He 'drops 2' down the action and slam fires that lever

open and closed before your favorite huntin dog can twitch its eyeball.

    ..........Widder

Hmmm, is Slater faster than ole TW's special chicken huntin' dog...ole Chicken Cacciatore? B)

  9. We have 96 shooters registered as of today.  If you plan on shooting our GA match please send in your application ASAP so we can get an accurate count for buckles that need to be ordered.  Also if you plan on camping on the range we only have a few camping spaces left so if you plan on camping please send in your application as soon as you can to guarantee a camping spot.

You can find the match application and all of the details about the match at the state match website https://www.srscowboy.com/events.html .

Because, from what I read here on the Wire, many people who shoot .38's in a rifle chambered for .357, have to run a long OAL on the .38's to get them to feed reliably. The new Ruger Marlin is only chambered in .38/.357, so it is not a stretch to think that .38's shot in this rifle will need a similarly long OAL. If that isn't the case, that would be great. IMO (worth every penny you paid), it seems like a foolish mistake to produce a lever action rifle that, from the factory, will not hold 10 rounds of the cartridge that it is made to shoot. If you have some useful information on this subject, please share it.

For one thing it's cheaper to load .38sp ammo than .357.  Loading a .38sp to a particular OAL is not a hard thing to accomplish and if you get them to cycle just fine in the Marlin chambered for .357 why not save money and time by not fiddling with the magazine spring.  The fact that you need to have 10 in the magazine and the rifle with no round chambered would preclude you from using this Marlin rifle in .357 for CAS.  With .38sp being cheaper to load and fitting 10 in the Marlin magazine I don't see any reason not to use .38sp in the rifle.  Now if you are a really stickler for historical accuracy and being "true to the caliber" then by all means don't buy this Marlin.  You'd be better suited to buy a 24" Marlin of something like a 1873 chambered in .357 that has at least a 10 round .357 mag capacity....it's your money, spend it like you want.

Has anyone played with the new Ruger Marlin (Marlin 1894 Classic Series Walnut 357 Mag 18.63in 70410)? I see that the capacity is listed as 9 + 1, and I was wondering if anyone has cut the spring to see if the magazine capacity can be increased. My interest would be how many .357 cartridges will fit, not .38's. Thank You!

Well you "might" be able to get 10 .357s in the mag tube if you trim the mag spring a little bit....I wouldn't do this unless you have a spare mag spring handy in case it does not work. .  I've heard that Marlins are OAL sensitive so I'm not sure how smooth they would be.  Fact is you should be able to get 10 .38sp in the mag tube ok without spring modification....you'd just have to try it....and see how the rifle would cycle them.

  15. I just got off the phone with Mr. Ray and he assured me that he has now stocked the pond at my lakefront camping spot.  If you anything about that location I don't know if I would want to keep any "fish" that come from the lake.

I shouldn't tell this cause you know how good I am at keeping secrets about TW........ BUT,

those boots Y'all are concerned about were put on TW's pet Buzzard.

Naturally, its a male Buzzard and he named it HiBall due to its slight deformity.   Only TW

    would figure something like that.

Now you know.....  HiBall wears the boots.   Not his chickens.

    ..........Widder

Buzzards huh.....now it all makes sense.  I see a bunch of fowl circling TW everyplace he goes....and few winged critters too.
