  1. I've been following this thread with interest. I am not an 'anti-vaxxer' by any means, but I'm suspicious when it comes to the Covid vaccinations. I've read quite a bit about the corner cutting that occurred during the development of these vaccines and I'm aware of the anecdotal reports of blood clotting issues. Given I don't have any of the major risk factors for serious outcomes I've chosen to forgo any additional shots beyond the first two I got (which I had to get in order to keep my job). As I understand it, major risk factors for negative outcomes are: kidney injury, COPD, diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, cancer, increased d-dimer (something to do with blood coagulation) male, advanced age, smoker, and obesity. Other than male and age, none of those apply to me. If some of them did, I would probably rethink my position on the Covid vaccinations. Given they don't, I've been vaccinated twice and I've had Covid at least twice I've concluded that I should have some resistance built up and I'm not in a high risk category to begin with. For those of you who do have multiple risk factors the vaccine may be a good idea. You also might consider eliminating the risk factors that are controllable and that you currently have. Treat your hypertension. Stop smoking. Lose weight. The literature doesn't say this, but I suspect that improving overall cardiovascular fitness would help as well. It's just my opinion, but those actions will likely do a lot more for you than masking and isolation will.
  2. It's been my experience that when you try to get a single solution to two different requirements you end up with something that isn't satisfactory for either. As Joe mentioned you will get better results with purpose built ammo. Perhaps Unique for hunting and Titewad (what I use) for target.
  3. Hot dogs need mustard and onions, just like hamburgers. FRIES need ketchup. They’re the only thing ketchup is good with! And of course you break spaghetti!
  4. @Subdeacon Joe I support your right to argue whatever position you choose. I support your right to believe whatever you choose. Unfortunately the EV crowd has moved from debate to force. They’re no longer willing to simply argue their position in the marketplace of ideas, they’re working hard to take choice off the table and achieve their ends by forced compliance. That makes this debate less about EVs vs ICE and more about knuckling under to pressure or standing up for liberty. I’m on the side of liberty, but to be clear, even if that wasn’t what was at stake, it’s clear to me that EVs aren’t ready for prime time and likely never will be. PHEV’s OTH have real potential, possessing most of the advantages of pure EVs with far fewer of the disadvantages.
  5. Respectfully. I participate in the Camaro sixth gen forum. Surprisingly there are a fair number of EV fanboys over there. They sound just like you. EV’s are a fire hazard. Resale value is suspect. Battery replacement is very expensive. Installing in home charging is expensive. Charging stations are not plentiful and many current ones are often broken. Charging is slow. Ranges are inadequate and almost always far overstated. The grid is not ready for large scale EV adoption. EVs are not green in production and often not in use depending upon the source of electricity. They don’t work well in the cold. They don’t work well in the heat. They’re very heavy, damaging roads and resulting in much more pollution from tire degradation. The government is trying to force us to use them. Subjective, but to me they’re boring disposable appliances. People who do road trips with lots of gear (many cowboys) see their travel time increase exponentially. If they were great, they wouldn’t need subsidies. We wouldn’t see the government deliberately increasing the cost of ICE vehicles. We wouldn’t see ICE bans. If EVs were great they would survive on their own, like ICE vehicles did when they replaced horses. They don’t because they’re a product of woke thinking in conjunction with a corrupt nanny state. EVs are inferior technology with extremely limited usefulness forced on us by idiots.
  6. They work fine in my 9 mm and 45 ACP applications. I’ve never tried them in CAS guns.
  7. I’m thinking this will be my first time there. I’ve heard a lot of good things!!
  8. That sounds nice!! I rarely drive anymore. Pretty much only Cowboy matches on Saturday, Sharyn’s SUV, or recreational in the Camaro.
  9. lol. I should have written a more appealing stage!!
  10. My next sports car will be a new Z06 vette, red of course. But first I owe Lethal Lizzie her first car then Kid Flash his. So my next car is about four years away.
  11. The only action videos I have are Cowboy action. But I do have pics of the car.
  12. I'll stick with my 455 horsepower, 6.2 liter 6 speed manual. Red like a sports car ought to be with honkin big tires. 5 years of ownership and I still smile every time I crank it up and hear those burbles and pops. It's not fuel efficient. It's not quiet. It's not PC, and I love it.
  13. Stew doesn't get on the Wire much, so I'm posting this. Don't miss the 2024 Bushwhack! April 11-13. Stew and crew know how to put on a really fun match. Attendance is limited to 150 shooters and I'm pretty sure it sold out last year. If you sign up by February 1st you can vote on five of the ten stages. I recommend option E, not that I'm biased or anything. Details here: https://sites.google.com/site/scstatematch/
  14. I’ve already had it twice, at least. For me it wasn’t that bad. Two weeks ago I was in the ICU with Flu A and viral pneumonia, negative for Covid. That was the sickest I’ve ever been. COVID was a walk in the park compared to that. I’m not going to live in fear and I’m not going to give up my freedoms because others are afraid. If I get it again, I’ll beat it again.
  15. I know I’m going to get in at least four, but I’m hoping to get five and compete in Cowboy and All Around Cowboy. I think I’ll go traditional, gunfighter and duelist. I’m hoping my pards @Randy Saint Eagle, SASS # 64903 and @Badlands Bob #61228 will coach me up!
  16. Don’t care and definitely won’t be ‘taking extra care’, wearing a mask, getting a booster or any other stupid crap. Plenty of sunshine, plenty of exercise, good food and good rest.
  17. Plenty of Federal out there. https://www.defenderammunition.com/products/primers?variant=40612408098914 https://southerndefense.com/federal-100-small-pistol-primers-1-000ct/?sku=SD-FED100SPP-5000&utm_source=ammoseek&utm_medium=aggregator&utm_campaign= https://ammoyard.com/primers/federal-100-champion-small-pistol-primer-100-per-box https://www.lg-outdoors.com/Product/Details/2875147?source=A10001
  18. I’m going to differ, respectfully. I’m glad when people show up, whether they’re competitive or not. Most folks I shoot with at monthlies (major matches are a different situation) are not competitive, at least not with me. I bring my competition with me to every match, me and often Iron Cowboy. The next match I shoot at there will probably be 30 or so shooters. Maybe 10 of those will be in it to win it and 20 will be there to hang out with pards and shoot. The latter group won’t be competitive for a variety of reasons, gun choices, shooting style choices, age, no interest in practicing, no natural talent, it’s a long list. But many are friends and I really enjoy spending a day in their company. For that reason I’m thankful they spend their time and money to be in the game. It’s worthy of note to me because they could have done something easier, cheaper or both. I think style points is an expression some people use to communicate part of what motivates them to be on the range. Dressing up like cowboys and playing with their toys. I look around today and realize about a third of the country hates our guts. They would happily take away our guns, our cars, our liberty, heck even our gas stoves and foods of choice. Some would be happy to see us all dead. We can’t afford to let relatively small differences drive wedges between us. Yeah, we do get a few bad apples. Yeah there can be a few folks on the range that I wouldn’t piss on their head to put out a fire, but by and large we’re all cowboys and I have to believe this game typically attracts good people. It’s too easy to forget that when we’re interacting online. Something about that type of interaction can bring out the worst in us. I definitely have been guilty of that, more than once. Gamers, this weekend if you’re lucky enough to get in some CAS, tell one of the ‘I’m just in it for fun crowd’ that you appreciate them being there. ‘Just for fun’ shooters, pick out a gamer and do the same thing. We can afford to take a moment and put a smile on someone’s face. Free bonus, you’ll find it makes you smile too.
  19. Why didn't I think to mention that. It's letter E. Thanks Randy!
