Halved, quick hot fry in olive oil with cubed parsnip (also not in the class of beetroot), garlic, and black pepper. Yummy! A wonderful side with a nice beef medallion and mashed potatoes.
Now I'm hungry too.
I went and sliced up a Beefsteak tomato and made a couple tomato sandwiches after I posted the biscuit pics.

Them look like whop biscuits to me. And cheap ones at that - Piggly wiggly brand, maybe.
There wasn't a good pic of a homemade biscuit with white sausage gravy on it handy.
Personally, I was thinking it was a Pillsbury biscuit in a tube or a store brand knock off. Too white to be a Butter Me Not but looks about the same.

Sounds good!
I like brussel sprouts but they don't like me.

Tarter sauce for the fish is popular.....tomato (ketchup) sauce for Fish & Chips chips.....NO!!!!!!!!
Many Americans can't eat fries (chips) without the stuff.
Personally, I'm not a fan.

Or you can just put some sausage, cheese and a fried egg on it.
EDIT
Great! Now I'm hungry!

Most shop counters will have malt vinegar and white vinegar and ask you if you want vinegar and what one you want.
I prefer malt vinegar for the fish only.
Most Americans would insist on tartar sauce and ketchup.

Pickled beets are more of a spring/Easter thing in our family.
Somebody always sets up a gallon jar of boiled eggs pickled with beets and the beet brine used as a base for pickling the eggs about that time of year.

So, not good eating.
The whole mercury poisoning and the fact that it absorbs jellyfish venom into the meat sorta put the kibosh on the 1-fish fish fry idea.

Do they eat good and what do you use for bait?
Hey, I had to ask.
'Pears to me that you could hold a whole fish fry from just catching one if they are good eating- maybe 2 if they are smaller and you're expecting a good crowd.

Excellent photos for the comparison! Thanks!
I don't want to meet either of them out in the wild, regardless of where I am.
I've seen gators from a distance, and that is fine with me.
And I doubt if I'll ever make it down under to see a real croc. Or a magpie. Or any of the other killer animals y'all have down there.
Spiders and snakes and drop bears, oh, my!
Hate to surprise you, but there's crocodiles in the US, too.
Down in Florida. There's not a lot of them, they don't have a big range qnd and they are listed as threatened. I don't think that the American crocodile is as big as the saltwater crocodile.

Personally, I suspect that there is only 1 fire ant colony in the Southeast.
It's just so big that the mounds we see are merely exits they dig wherever the urge takes them.
