Molasses Ben

My son is moving up to Young Gun this summer and stealing my 1892. That means I need to get an old Cimmeron '73 running. It had an out of battery discharge and I need to replace the extractor, and the carrier. I noticed that the cams on the lever are pretty worn (see pic). Is replacing the lever going to affect anything I need to look out for?
