  1. Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020 BELLEVUE, WA – Democrat Joe Biden made it clear in Texas that he despises American gun owners by declaring former rival Beto O’Rourke, the gun-grabbing former Texas congressman, as his point man on what he called “the gun problem,” the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today. “For Biden to embrace Beto should erase any doubt where the former vice president truly stands on gun rights,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “Months ago, we vowed to let nobody forget O’Rourke’s brazen threat to take away people’s firearms, and we meant it.” O’Rourke’s presidential campaign crumbled after he declared during a debate in Houston, “Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR15, your AK47.” When nobody else on stage at the time made any effort at all to counter the statement, Gottlieb said Democrats had officially become the “Party of Gun Confiscation.” Biden told O’Rourke in front of his Dallas audience, “You’re gonna take care of the gun problem with me, you’re gonna be the one who leads this effort. I’m counting on you, I’m counting on you, we need you badly.” “I’ll tell you what Biden needs even worse than O’Rourke,” Gottlieb responded. “He needs to kiss any credibility he ever had with gun owners a permanent goodbye. Beto O’Rourke represents everything that is wrong with today’s gun ban extremism, and he is one of the worst enemies of the Second Amendment. While he was campaigning, he said gun owners would be given the option of turning in their guns in exchange for cash, or risk being prosecuted. Then he outright threatened to confiscate the firearms of law-abiding Americans. “We’re not sure how to explain this to Biden,” he added, “but accepting O’Rourke’s endorsement and then vowing to put him in charge of national gun policy, should he win in November, amounts to quid-pro-quo. “Biden’s mask is completely off,” Gottlieb concluded. “He’s not just a doddering Democrat pushing to become president, he’s an extremist anti-gunner who just promised to put a gun prohibition fanatic in charge of his administration’s gun policy. That’s not just a difference in philosophy, it’s a declaration of war.”
  2. DATE: March 3, 2020 TO: USF & NRA Members and Friends FROM: Marion P. Hammer USF Executive Director NRA Past President Do you really want to know what's going on at NRA? Do you really want to know why anti-gun politicians, NRA's fanatical enemies and dissidents are attacking NRA? If you really want to know what NRA's Wayne LaPierre said in his speech at CPAC last week. Then wait no longer. Watch the video of Wayne's Speech at CPAC and see for yourself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZ0No0DCMaI New York Governor Cuomo's office put out an official response calling Wayne's speech an "Unhinged Rant." It wasn't. https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/governor-cuomo-responds-unhinged-rant-nra-chief-wayne-lapierre ABC News essentially claimed Wayne called Cuomo a "Communist." He didn't. NRA Chief Blasts ‘Communist’ Cuomo Over New York Gun Laws By Bob Miller ABC News 14 February 29, 2020 https://abc14news.com/2020/02/29/nra-chief-blasts-communist-cuomo-over-new-york-gun-laws/ You don't have take the media's word for what he said -- watch for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFQDBTwh-8k
  3. On March 3rd, the West Virginia Senate voted 34-0 to pass House Bill 4955. House Bill 4955 reduces the application fee for a License to Carry Deadly Weapons (LCDW). It will now go to Governor Jim Justice for his signature. Please contact Gov. Justice and ask him to sign House Bill 4955 into law. House Bill 4955 reduces the current $75 fee for a LCDW to $25 and eliminates the fee for honorably discharged military veterans. West Virginia already allows law-abiding adults to carry a handgun to defend themselves without first having to pay fees or obtain government permission, but that ends at the state line. Many West Virginians still choose to get a LCDW in order to exercise their right to carry in other states that recognize West Virginia’s permit. This fee reduction helps ensure that West Virginians of any financial means are able to defend themselves when traveling. Again, please contact Gov. Justice and ask him to sign House Bill 4955 into law.
  4. On March 5th, the New Hampshire Senate is expected to have floor votes on Senate Bill 469, which endangers shooting ranges. Your state senator needs to hear from you now! Please click the “Take Action” button below to contact your state senator and urge them to OPPOSE Senate Bill 469. Senate Bill 469 repeals New Hampshire’s shooting range protection law by allowing municipalities to subject already-existing shooting ranges to noise ordinances, while also making it easier for individuals to sue local gun ranges for noise violations. Currently, shooting ranges are immune from lawsuits as long as they comply with noise ordinances in place at the time the range opened. This legislation endangers shooting ranges, even if they operate safely and are otherwise in full compliance with the law. Municipalities and individuals will use these ordinances to shut down ranges with costly renovations, unreasonable court fees, or even closure of operations. Shooting ranges provide a safe environment for law-abiding individuals to learn, practice, and train. They should not be regulated out of existence. Again, please click the “Take Action” button above to contact your state senator and urge them to OPPOSE Senate Bill 469. Please continue to check www.nraila.org and your email inbox for NRA-ILA alerts on pending legislation
  5. The Assembly Codes Committee passed a bill last week that bans hunting with lead ammunition on public lands. Make no mistake, A.703 – by Assemblywoman Deborah Glick – is a direct attack from animal extremists bent on destroying our hunting heritage. This Greenwich Village lawmaker doesn't have a lot of hunting or wildlife issues in her Manhattan District yet she continues to introduce legislation to undermine professional wildlife management and hunting. Even hunting dog field trials are targeted with this legislation! Please contact your Assembly Members and urge them to vote “NO” on A.703. Alternatives to lead ammunition are cost prohibitive for hunters in New York. But this is by design. Animal extremists want to drive up the cost of hunting to reduce participation and thereby reduce the number of gun owners. Hunters remain the financial backbone of conservation efforts throughout the state, but animal extremists want hunting out of the picture and hunters off the landscape. The simple truth is that there is no credible evidence that lead ammunition has a negative impact on wildlife species, but the goal of the extremists is to remove hunting, not promote wildlife. This legislation has been placed on the Assembly calendar and could be called for a vote on the Assembly floor at any time. Please contact your Assembly member and respectfully request a NO vote on A.703.
  6. On March 2nd, the West Virginia House of Delegates voted 81-17 to pass Senate Bill 96 to strengthen West Virginia’s preemption law. It will now go to Governor Jim Justice for his signature. Please contact Gov. Justice and ask him to sign SB 96 into law. Senate Bill 96 prevents municipalities from restricting a number of tools that law-abiding citizens carry with them every day. Preemption legislation is designed to stop municipalities from creating a patchwork of different laws that turn a law-abiding citizen into a criminal for simply crossing a jurisdictional line. Again, please contact Gov. Justice and ask him to sign SB 96 into law.

  9. As the 2020 election approaches the anti-gun rhetoric is bound to increase with unsupported distorted facts and personal opinions and I have seen a few post in some of the threads get personal, for the most part this has not been the case. From the beginning I reminded everyone that “All SASS Members are a part of Team SASS. Those with a different point of view on the Second Amendment or what we can do to support it are more than welcome to express them on the Team SASS Wire as long as it is done in a civil, non-personal manner. But, if any responses become personal, argumentative or cross the line into less than constructive territory, I will activate my Moderator privileges and take appropriate action.” Although this is not something I want to do, I will not hesitate if the line gets crossed. Just as we all have our personal opinions about various politicians and their talking points on both sides of the isle, and we cringe at how they say one thing and do the opposite once elected. Do not forget that they are not the first or the only ones who has pushed for this position, only the latest. What we need to remember is that we have SASS members that are also from both sides of the isle. Even if they have the same opinion about a specific political figure as you do, they would not appreciate being personally cast or judged by what someone else from their party says or does just as you would not want to be categorized by what a group or business does just because you have associated with a member of that group or made a past purchase from that business. When you personalize a comment about one of the politicians, states or even a cities, someone could take it as though you were lumping them in that category as well and we do not want to alienate anyone. I do understand how some people make it very easy to laugh at or get angry at their opinions as well as some of the things they say or do. We should not make it into personal attacks no matter how tempting; do not lower us to their level. Please think, edit and re-read before you post. There are a lot of people out there trying to take away our “Constitutional Rights”, let's be sure to rise above their rhetoric - Think "Spirit Of The Game." Charlie
